This is the first truly detailed and informative book I've read on Natural Hormone Replacement Therapy (NHRT) that I can really use. Now at age 51, I had started a NHRT regemin at age 49 that was helping, but I did not understand why sometimes it didn't work very well or not at all for some debillitating symptoms. I was also concerned about increasing my risk for cancer. After reading this book, and adjusting my hormone intake, I am no longer suffering from migraines, I no longer fear increasing my risk for cancer, the mind fuzziers are pretty much gone, and I feel better physically, mentally, and emotionally that I have in years - I'm talking since about age 15 here! As women, we must become informed about our hormone balances and imbalances, especially if we suffer from dramatic mood swings in our earlier years, or are approaching, or experiencing menopause. This book will become a permanent part of your 'health library'. Very self empowering!

Very good.

There is a ton of great info in this book. I like how it is broken down by the different hormones. I wish he had included some thyroid, although I do realize that is a much more complicated hormone to deal with! This is very good for those not too familiar with hormones and how to monitor your symptoms.

Fantastic!

I purchased this book after having a complete hysterectomy 2 years ago. My doctor is a big believer in natural hormone replacement so I did not have to convince him. I feel as good as I did in my early 20's. I have gotten many of my fortyish & fiftyish friends on the bandwagon and many have switched to gynecologists who are familar with and prescribe "natural" hormones. I loaned my book to everyone who wanted to read it until my boss lost it so I am off to Barnes and Noble to purchase another copy!

Changed my life!

I can't tell you how much this book has changed my life. I've spent the last 10 years wondering what was wrong w/ me, taking antidepressants, anti anxiety meds, Ambien, etc. Then a distant family member told me to do some research on hormone therapy. I would have never even known or considered the options in this book. Since starting some of the hormones, I already see dramatic change in how I feel. I'm excited to put it all together & hopefully feel healthy, energized, & migraine/PMDD free!!! I've already recommended this book to all of my friends that are struggling w/ hormone imbalance.

Interesting Alternatives

This book details the natural method for hormone replacement. I have found the book to be quite interesting, but a bit difficult for a layperson (such as myself) to put into use. I understand that it is best to be under the care of a physician vs. trying to supplement yourself, however, I think it would be an easier read had it not been so technically written.
