Wonderful POSITIVE book for pregnant moms

Most books women read on pregnancy are so negative and are filled with fears - based from what society has told us of course. This book is not that at all. It is a wonderful book that all pregnant moms should have. Especially if women care about their pregnancy, and want their birth journey to be sacred and positive. Aviva Jill Romm has many wonderful books on both women and children. She does a beautiful job of educating and keeping things positive. I also highly recommend the documentary "Orgasmic Birth" (you can rent it on Netflix). Women need to know their options and their rights when it comes to pregnancy, labor and birth. Women are powerful, full of strength, and have been birthing babies forever. We need more positive books like this one! A MUST read for all pregnant moms!

    My pregnancy Bible

This book is a must have for anyone who wants to approach their pregnancy and birth in their full power. The author provides excellent information on herbs and nutrition, as well as including great recipes for nourishing herbal teas you can make at home. I am in my third pregnancy (all of my babies have been born at home with a midwife-successfully) I wish I would have used this book more during my first pregnancy. It doesn't leave my side now. This information in this book in invaluable for anyone who wants to take full responsibilty for the outcome of their birthing experience!

    Some good advice in moderation.

The author gives some good advice, such as learning to 'listen' to your body. Although I'm not into the whole natural labor/midwife concept, I do find most of the things practical for expectant mothers. I followed some of the advice during my first pregnancy and it helped. I would suggest like with everything, adapt the info to your lifestyle;always do further research, and use your common sense!

    Good Questions to ask

This book is written from the point of view a midwife. Personally, I would not use a midwife. This book provides excellent questions to ask yourself about what kind of care you're getting from your doctor or other provider. It questions the safety to the fetus and necessity of tests such as Doppler Ultrasound, Diagnostic Ultrasound, Chorionic Villi Sampling. It has advice about drinking milk, taking vitamins and mentions hormones, pesticides, antibiotics of non-organic foods. It includes a long list of commonly used herbs which you may even use in cooking that are contraindicated for pregnancy. It also includes a good section on exercizes. If you're the type of person who wants to question whatever your provider does regarding the health and safety of your pregnancy this may be the book for you. The author does provide alternative care advice that should be questioned by readers as well. Her advice is not always sound. I particularly thought that the first option she gives as advice for assisting a breech birth was not very good. This offers some excellent advice when read with an open mind.
