    Oustanding Read

IT IS WONDERFUL, TEARY AND TOUCHES YOUR HEART AND BRINGS OUT FEELINGS YOU NEVER THOUGHT YOU HAD. I cried in the midst of fleeting happiness and smiled in the midst of courage and sibling strength in the midst of PURE EVIL. This book teaches how hard and easy it is to break the human spirit. Out of the midst of sexual, physical and mental abuse, the main character's spirit blooms strong and created a phenomenal BLACK woman. A book about strength in the midst of sorrow. I could not put down this book. I cheered when I saw Neecey fight back. I cried when people tried to break her spirit and body.

    Heartbreaking, but GOOD!

I honestly could not put this book down! It is heartbreaking, but excellent. My mother recommended it, and she had the same experience. I highly recomendt this book, it gives a very clear understanding of childhood abuse and neglect.

    Must read

I would recommend this book. It captures the reader's attention. I honestly couldn't put it down. I found myself hugging and kissing my children as I read Neecy's story and wondered how many children experience the attrocities that these children had to survive. The book is short but well written.

    Sizzling

I liked the poem 'Scars' that is the precursor of and poignantly mirrors this story. Good descriptions and characterizations and the author does an excellent job of revealing many social issues especially the Battered Child Syndrome. However in the weaving of the plot she just sizzled. Well done!

    Sad

Very heartbreaking, but definitely a must read, especially if you've been victim to child abuse.
