    a manga materpeice

Evangelion is a wonderfeul series. It is by far one of the best animes I have ever seen. The manga is drawn well with extrodinary detail and rough draft frames when there is comedy or carcasim.

A Must Buy For All Anime Fans

This book (like the first vol) is an indepth look into the life of a teenager how pilots a huge bio-mechanic robot to destoy huge evil angels. Not only is thare a lot of big robots and battel, the focus is on the emotional feelings of the piolt and his isues. I think if you are going to buy the first vol you will need to buy this one as well.

First in Eva series is great!!

This manga introduces the whole story of the anime, really. It's got great pictures of Shinji and Misato. I like the anime better though. Great animation!

Better than Volume 1, and more enjoyable

While Vol. 1 of the Evangelion manga focused on major mecha action, Volume 2 becomes a more introspective look into Shinji's motivation. At last we get a true, in-depth glimpse of his personality, even though it seems so bland and distant. His relationship with Misato also comes into focus in this volume. Why do so many people like Eva? It's because of psychological aspects like this. They aren't just trampling around the countryside with their giant robots -- the characters all have issues of their own. Also, don't miss the interview with Sadamoto in the back of the book! It's a very useful study on the art of character design.
