Never Forgotten

A fascinating account of the loss, search, and eventual finding of a missing Israeli submarine spanning some 30 years of mystery

David Jourdan's book Never Forgotten is the story of the Israeli submarine DAKAR which disappeared without a trace in the Mediterranean Sea during its journey from England to Israel in 1967. Jourdan's oceanographic company NAUTICOS was commissioned by the Israeli government to develop a search plan in the hope of eventually determining the fate of the vessel and crew. The book details the many years of search efforts and theories concerning the DAKAR's fate that preceded his company' involvement starting the the 1990's including the lives of a number of crew members and their families before and after the tragedy. Most interesting was the methodology employed in the planning and conduct of the search efforts leading to the ships recovery and memorialization.
