    Fresh Air

This book is so refreshingly honest! Nene keeps it "real" when telling about her journey. It is full of insight, humor, and inspiration. She understands the decisions women must sometimes make in order to exist. I appreciate her candor and openness.

NeNe Leakes has a great story!!

This book is terrific and captivating! I could not put it down. She has really persevered in her life and is a very strong individual. She has a great attitude and will go on to do big things. She is the most real of any of other the housewives on any of the Bravo shows because she tells it like it is and takes chances when everyone else plays it safe. I wish her the best and buy this book, you will enjoy it!!

    Bravo TV star's debut memoir

Nene Leakes is without a doubt one of the more boisterous characters on Bravo TV's "Real Housewives of Atlanta," and even in print she comes across larger than life. "Never Make the Same Mistake Twice", Nene's memoir, is brutally honest and really comes across in the same voice the Nene we see on TV.
A fan of all of Bravo's "Housewives" series, I was excited to get to know Nene more as a real person. I think she's a dynamic character and she certainly doesn't hold back. This book definitely reveals there is more to her than just the wealthy outspoken Atlanta housewife shown on TV.
From Nene's childhood when her single mother had her and her older brother out of wedlock, then promptly handed them over to her married, childless sister to raise, to not being sure if her current relationship with her husband will work out or not, Leakes shows she has nothing to hide.
Nene believes she got a better childhood being raised by her aunt than her mother could offer, yet she laments there was no love in her aunt's household. While she had every material thing she could need, she always wanted more. She also craved the guidance and love a real mother would offer. She really is bitter about the second family her mother started when she married and had more children, yet never offered to take Nene and her brother back in and raise them.
Nene's first real relationship produced her first son, Bryson. Nene's then-boyfriend got her pregnant the first time they ever were together, then right before Nene gave birth, she found out he had another girl pregnant too. That girl dropped her baby off on the father's doorstep and never looked back. So, Nene raised her baby and the other girl's baby with the father of the two and his mother. However, nothing Nene did was good enough and often resulted in beatings that he would dole out right in front of his mother.
After many years Nene got smart and ran away to live with a girlfriend of hers, taking Bryson with her. However, she found it difficult to have enough money to send Bryson to private school and keep them both in the lifestyle she believed they deserved.
Along came a lucrative job at a strip club. Nene goes into tawdry detail about her many years working as a stripper. Much more detail and more pages than she really needed to. Sounded like defensive writing at times.
And then she met her current husband, Gregg, who offered her a lifestyle where she wouldn't have to strip for her money and she could be queen of his palace. Reluctantly she accepted his offer, and they eventually had a son together, Brentt,
Which leads us to present day, Nene as the star of Bravo TV. She claims she always knew she would be a star, yet seems to overstate her stardom just a tad. An entertaining read, yet the wisdom she offers at the end about which pitfalls in life to avoid seems redundant and unnecessary.

Previewing Nene Leakes Never Make the Same Mistake Twice Bio

I really enjoyed reading Nene Leakes bio. Some of her phrases were a little hard to understand, but overall it was quite an interesting book. She laid her whole life out in it and that takes a lot of guts to do. I am sure very releasing and also stimulating for her. This book should also help others as well out there that might have been in the same situation or are in it right now.
I do enjoy her as my favorite Atlanta housewife. She is so much fun to watch. She says what she thinks and that is good to a point as she has realized, sometimes you just have to learn to keep your mouth shut and bite your tongue. I know I am the same way, but know when not to talk and just walk away because it only makes you look like the nut and not the person who should look like the crazy one.
I hope she writes a book about being in and with the Housewives of Atlanta. I think that would also be quite enjoyable with a behind the scenes look at what goes on and what doesn't come out as being shown on the screen.
Nene, just keep being yourself and you go girl.
So buy Nene's book and just see for yourself.

I will never make the same mistake twice

This book was terrible. I read this book thinking to receive inspiration from a victim of domestic abuse, however, all that was received was petty remarks about so called friends. Nene Leakes is not the star she dreams she is and should not think herself so highly. A big disappoinment.

This book was hard to put down.

I thought this was a well written bio of NeNe. I was able to see more into why she does some to the things she does with better understanding. The book made me laugh and think about how not judging others so quickly based on what we see on tv. I think she is an inspiration to single mothers out there that puts the care of their children first. I would recommend this book to others.

    Not the best memoir

I was totally drained by the time I finished this book. I think Mrs. Leakes focused on too many negative aspects of being a "socialite" and a "celebrity" in Atlanta.

While I found her determination to overcome obsticles in her life inspiring I was overwhelmed by gossip and contradictions that over-shadowed the positive message she intended to relate.

I bought the book because she said it would be a juicy page turner. I was disappointed. She should stick to reality TV.

    Not for me.

Borrowed from a friend. Did not find this to be very interesting. Her personality on tv does not represent her well selling this book.
    My opinion.
