Alex does indeed hit the nail on the head (firmly) with these three Anthony Villiers novels.  I refuse to die until he publishes
"The Universal Pantograph"!  In fact all his novels are beautifully written, insightful, and most memorable.  My yellowed copies
of Alex's novels were re-read every five years until I discovered that they were available in E-book format.  They will always occupy
a prominent place on the bookshelf holding my most treasured titles!  //Frank Ryck, Jefferson City, MO

I read these when they were first published many decades ago and it's great to have them in an anthology. They influenced many writers with their "Regency" science fiction. Quietly witty and wise it was a loss to the genre when Panshin quit writing this series.

A must read for science fantasy fiction fans.

Well written, unique perspective. My only disappointment is that the fourth novel in the series has never materialized.
