    A Heroine worth the title

I have been waiting many years for a book that reflected the style and substance of Grace Livingston Hill (1865-1947). Her books had heroes with nobility and such depth of character that my father would read them to us as children, hoping that we would emulate their good choices and integrity. In "New Creation", Olive Swan has finally captured the heart of what has been lacking in many Christian fiction books today - a heroine worthy of the title. Esmerelda lives the life and walks the walk. It is refreshing to see a character living the truest of faith-walks in a modern setting with all of its temptations. Although Esmerelda is not perfect, her imperfections are not so distasteful that I was turned away from her Christian example. I also liked the character of Sean. He was challenged and provoked to see an alternative way of living with all the areas it touches - environmental issues, politics, intimacy, theories of origin, etc... It is amazing to see how Ms. Swan was able to give good and sound arguments for each topic from a biblical standpoint in such a short book. The shortness of the book is my only criticism. I wanted more from these two characters and more of their discussions when I finished the book in one day. I am looking forward to a second work from this young lady.

    could not put it down

This is a compelling book which presents a Biblical worldview in a moving way. Enjoyed following the story and seeing the outcome. My favorite part was the young man's battle with the conviticting Holy Spirit.I say buy and read it!!!!
