This story is engaging with believable characters and an interesting premise. It appears this book was self-published through PubIt because Hechtl did not have his manuscript copy-edited. This means there are a lot, and I mean a lot, of spelling, syntax, and grammatical errors that a spell or grammar checker would not pick up. If you can get around the distractions of the obvious literacy errors, the book is a good read. I will buy Book 2 when it is released.

Let me just start with saying that I will most likely buy the other books in this series when there released. I've really enjoyed the universe this author has created. With hat said let me just say that The character dialog is often times lacking depth and annoyingly repetitive. You don't feel any real character relationship development because all the language is utilitarian. Also, Your main Character can only sigh so much. Additionally, scenes often jump around and there is no real sense of time passing. Your never sure if it's been 20 minutes or 2 months. Finally, a little more creativity with the technology needed to be seen. This is science fiction and while it doesn't have to be "hard" Science Fiction, the tech should at least be futuristic. When the author starts mentioning DLL files... Anyhow, despite all that the concepts for the world is solid and I see a lot of potential here. I really hope that on the next installment the Author spends the money on a professional Editor and ramps up the characters and ramps down the typo's and sighs.
