A Layered and Lovely Debut

"Night Swim is such a sweet and delightful read at times, and yet so sad and nearly brutal in its honesty at others. The book is perfectly paced. I finished in two sittings, because I just could not put it down. I can't wait to see what Jessica Keener does next."

Disappointing

For some reason this book kept you interested enough to keep reading it. I kept waiting for something "more" to happen. It never did! I would not recommend this book

You people should just read this novel yourselves and write your own review on this novel. I really enjoyed reading this novel very much. ShelleyMA

    You must check it out

Night Swim is a girly book that deals with the struggles of an adolescent girl in a very dysfunctional Jewish home. The mother has a problem with various chemical substances and chronic pain from arthritis. The father is a collegiate tyrant at home. The brothers cope with the various dysfunctions. Sarah, the main charater, struggles to find her identity while struggling with her Jewish heritage, a loss of her mother, a loss of an older brother, and a possible new step mother. Somehow she is able to find herself as a person. This book would be excellent for book discussions on the problems of chronic pain, social drinking, teen age sex life, and social acceptance!

    Good yet sad book

I liked this book. It seems too short though. I wanted more character development.
