    No Control

This book was just as good as the last!
Caleb's story is touching and dramatic. I love the suspense in this series of books. Lana (Caleb's love interest) is headstrong, and sometimes I get mad at her, but overall it is a great story. I can't wait to read the next.

    COULDN'T PUT IT DOWN!!!

I read a brief synopsis of this book in a Cosmo magazine and thought I would check out the book. Oh my word I couldn't put it down at all. I just wanted to read more about Caleb and Lana. I would definately read this over again, and I don't do that with books that often. Its a page turner.

    Excellent romantic suspense thriller

Having survived a terrorist kidnapping in Armenia in which everyone else was killed, she had prayed that she would join them. Eighteen months later, not feeling safe even in her home in Columbia, Missouri, Lana Hancock suffers from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, euphoria for being alive, and a horrific case of survivor's guilt. The nightmares make it impossible for her to sleep. Worse one of the evil abductors, Miles Gentry, appears in each of her horrific dreams as he saved her life but failed to prevent torture or keep the others alive. ---- Unbeknownst to Lana, Miles is actually undercover Delta Force operative Caleb Stone, who struggled to keep his identity concealed for fear of crippling his mission when all he wanted to do was rescue her. He would like to comfort her, but feels the best thing for Lana is to never see him again. However, the CIA believes she might be a target of the terrorist cell wanting to complete the job Caleb is assigned to keep her safe filled with guilt for allowing her to be battered, he vows to die if necessary to insure she is not harmed by these monsters. ---- Romantic suspense fans will have NO REGRETS after reading Shannon K. Butcher¿s action-packed NO CONTROL due to the lead couple whose guilt complexes supersedes rational thought. Both are fascinating characters struggling to cope with the memories of that ugly incident however, readers will especially find Miles interesting as he has regrets for not interceding earlier even though he knows logically it would have destroyed the mission. He keeps asking himself esoteric questions like whether freedom is a sham when innocent pawns are sacrificed for the common good. Fans will relish this strong character driven thriller as Miles has a second chance but he also knows he can never make up for what he allowed to happen to the woman he loves. ---- Harriet Klausner

    an awesome read

the story line in this book was great! it was a terrific follow-up to NO REGRETS. the emotions in NO CONTROL were very strong and believable and had you feeling sad and hopeful for both characters. the author introduces some new characters that are also delta force ops., including GRANT KENT whom was introduced in the 1st book. so perhaps there will be more books to come in this series. what is so great and refreshing about this author is that the story lines are believable and not overly complicated. also the chatacters are so real, likeable and down to earth with the emotions that are meshed with them. plus, the sex scenes are just right that blend well the story.

    even better than the first!

Shannon K. Butcher is a SPECTACULAR author. I previously read her first novel NO REGRETS and thought it was amazing. But.. when I read NO CONTROL i could not breathe.. I got so into the story that I visioned myself as Lana. And thanks to my imagination I had the best sex ever [ for a virgin =p ] Now everytime I think about the book I think about how much I want a guy like Caleb to be with me.. physically, of course emotionally. I highly recommend this book to everyone and anyone.

    A reviewer

This is a wonderful fast paced story, with so many twists and turns it will leave your head spinning! Well written and wonderfully imagined story I am sure everyone will love. Not to mention the romance is even more steamy than her first book.

A timely plot, beautiful love story¿who could ask for more?

Delta Force Operator, Caleb Stone, was working undercover in Armenia. Swarm, a terrorist group, had already killed and were plotting to hit an elementary school. Without blowing his cover, he could do nothing to protect the hostages. He had to watch while they tortured and killed the Americans. Only one survived. Once he had the information he so desperately needed, he carried Lana Hancock¿s broken and battered body from the cave. She was barely alive. He stood by her bedside, demanding that she live. The only thing that kept her going was the burning desire to tell him how much she hated him. Lana fought her way back to physical shape but still suffered from the nightmares. It was believed that the terror group had reorganized and once again was plotting destruction and death. Lana was again in danger, and it was Caleb¿s job and desire to see that no harm come to her. She knew something but was afraid to share. The terrorist did not know that the hood they had placed over Lana¿s head had a tear, just big enough to see their faces. Now eighteen months later her friends and family¿s life was at stake. Could she trust Caleb to protect them? Occasionally you run on to a book that you know is going to be a best seller. No Control by Shannon K. Butcher is that book. She snatches the reader¿s interest from the opening and does not let go to the last page of the book. She has a superb talent for conveying emotion whether it is terror or love. The plot is timely, and could have been taken from the headlines. The characters are well developed. Lana and Caleb are the ideal couple. He wants to protect her she is strong yet vulnerable. Kara is the perfect antagonist. She is a sociopath bent on the destruction of Lana, gleeful at inflicting pain. This is the first book I have read by Shannon K. Butcher. It will not be the last. I was hooked from the beginning. I predict a future book with Grant as the lead (I hope I am right). Readers you do not want to miss this one. Reviewed by Debra Gaynor for ReviewYourBook.com
