Magic!!! This is a must have.

First I have to say, I'm a true Elizabeth Pantley fan. I started out with the No Cry Sleep Solution for Babies, and was hooked on the way she is supportive and encouraging. In a time where everyone was telling me to "just let him cry it out" Elizabeth was the first "professional' that made me feel like I should trust my own instincts and do what was right for our son.
This book is no different. She provides many different ideas and options and I love that she includes quotes from other parents. Separation anxiety is a big deal in our family, and with my son's first foray into PreK at 3 1/2, I was happy to have it.
The most amazing thing about this book (aside from the fact that she details separation anxiety throughout for babies up through school age) has been the Magic Bracelet.
I wasn't sure if it would really make an impact on him, but I decided to try it from the beginning. Didn't make a really big deal about prepping him too far in advance, but the day or two before i showed it to him. He didn't seem too interested but I gave it to him his first day, made sure it was well stocked with ' hugs and kisses from mommy and daddy" and he wears it all day long. It has helped tremendously and has given me peace of mind!

This book is a must have. Elizabeth is down to earth and genuine and it comes through in her books.

This book is a must-have if you are a parent dealing with separa

This book is a must-have if you are a parent dealing with separation anxiety with your child. This book gives excellent and helpful advice on how to deal with your child as well as yourself during this difficult time. The magic bracelet that comes with the book is such a great idea and my daughter wears it non-stop (except for showering and washing the bracelet). I will be placing an order to receive extra magic bracelets to have on hand in case it gets lost. Elizabeth is an awesome author and this book is highly recommended.

Thanks for giving me back my Sanity!!!! All was well one month

Thanks for giving me back my Sanity!!!!

All was well one month ago when our daughter first started preschool.
When she started whining and crying desperately from the second week,
I took to Google for quick fixes and came across this book on separation anxiety.
After trying and testing various techniques for over 3 weeks, she is close to enjoying her school days again.

Your book was keeping me sane through my angel's desperate cries to be home,
as I could understand what is normal and what is not.

I'm glad I came across this book.
Thank you so much Elizabeth for taking time to make lives of our precious little ones easier,
and I must say to ease our minds as parents through out the process.
Well, actually We as a family can't thank you enough!!!

It was just like having a counselor next to me,
I admit I'll keep revisiting this book again and again AND again.
On my way to your other books now :-)

When my daughter was 8 months old, I bought this book. I was worried that she was going to be as anxious as I was as a child. This book covers separation anxiety for babies right through to school age.

While some separation anxiety is normal for well adjusted, attached children, this book gives you techniques and methods to cope with all levels of separation anxiety.

This book has eased my anxiety as well as my daughters.

This is a must buy for all parents!

This book has made a real difference in our lives!

We had our first anxiety issue with our son when he was 3 and started daycare - he threw up every day for 8 weeks before he finally adjusted. We had been advised by our doctors to continue to send him each day or he wouldn't overcome his anxiety. It was a very hard time for our family but it did end and he became our happy son again. This year our son (now 4) started school full time and was having a hard time adjusting. He once again became overwhelmed with feelings of anxiety (he started to throw up again and also couldn't sleep well at night)and a friend of mine had recommended that I read the no-cry separation anxiety solution. I was willing to try anything and didn't want to see my son suffer through another 8 weeks so I bought the last copy of the book at our local book store. I gave our son the "love bracelet" (as we call it) that same night. My husband and I kissed it and hugged it and held it close to our hearts - our daughter did the same. In addition our son thought it would be best to rub it all over our dog and to get him to lick it and sniff it as well! We brought him to school the next morning and it was his first tear free day, he told me that his bracelet had magic and when he touched it he felt better! It has worked wonders for us and we are very grateful for the difference this has made in our lives and most importantly our sons life.

Another Great Winner from Elizabeth Pantley

First we are introduced to separation anxiety and it's basics. Then we are given tips for babies and toddlers. Then we meet the Magic Bracelet idea. Full instructions with different ideas for use are included. A magic bracelet is included with the book but you can choose to make your own or buy your own.

Following that is specific tips for preschool and school age children. The section after than addresses certain separation anxiety issues such as babysitters, daycare, going to work, starting school, new baby, going to bed alone, playdates and parties, overnights, travel, military duty, divorce, business travel and siblings going to school. Finally parent separation anxiety is addressed and there is a short chapter on Separation Anxiety Disorder.

The magic bracelet is a great idea. It's for your child to keep you close when they are away. She suggests having two identical bracelets so that if one is lost, there is a second one. The included bracelet is a simple orange woven bracelet with the word "Magic" on it and velcro clasp.

My kids cry sometimes when I leave but it doesn't last long and they don't have too many problems. However my eldest is starting school this September so I will try the bracelet with her.

A wonderful guide to help parents and children

Another great addition to the "No-Cry" series, this book helps parents recognize that separation anxiety is common and normal for children at various ages and stages, and helps them decide what gentle, respectful steps to take to help ease a child's separation anxiety. I love that the book offers a balanced set of ideas that allows each family to choose the right mix of techniques for that family and the temperament and age of the particular child. It is wonderful how Pantley respects the close bond between parent and child, and still manages to present a variety of helpful techniques to prevent or eliminate separation anxiety. The Magic Bracelet included with the book is a creative solution that can work its "magic" with children of many ages. My 22-month-old was thrilled when I gave her her very own bracelet filled with my kisses and love.

This book is a must read for families with young children

As a Baby Planner in Charlotte, my specialty is assisting moms returning to work after having a baby. After baby sleep concerns, separation anxiety is the most common concern from my clients. For baby sleep issues, the no-cry sleep solution by Elizabeth Pantley is my #1 go-to resource. So of course I was excited about the publication of the no-cry separation anxiety solution by Elizabeth Pantley.
This is a very easy to read book and one where in a moment of frustration, you can flip quickly to reference a topic. The author explains the origin of separation anxiety - ensuring that you will never feel embarrassed, ashamed or apologetic for your child's emotions. This book doesn't only address leaving a child at day-care - it addresses bedtime fears, babysitter scenarios and even those short gym child watch drop-offs. The book is full of practical, easy to implement suggestions. You can pick and choose from many ideas to implement. The book even includes a "magic bracelet" to use when separating with instructions on how to introduce and use the bracelet to help comfort your child. My copy of this book is already highlighted, dog-eared and well appreciated.

The No-Cry Separation Anxiety Solution has given me hope...

The No-Cry Separation Anxiety Solution, written by Elizabeth Pantley, author of the No-Cry Solution Series offers tips and advice on how to made good-byes easier on your little one when they display separation anxiety at your departure.

I, like many other parents, have a child that suffers from separation anxiety. Through Elizabeth Pantley's book, "The No-Cry Separation Anxiety Solution", I am quickly discovering ways to help my little one overcome her fear of my departures.

I guilted myself into believing that my daughter's tears and screams were somehow my fault and that there was nothing that I could do. The book helped me realize through easy to read language that it wasn't my fault, and that I couldn't have prevented what was happening.

Through the simple tips and advice that her book offers, I am on the path to loosening the bond that my super-glue baby has on me, so that we both can gain our independance...when we want it.

Her book made me relieved that my choice to keep my daughter with me when I had the option, was not a wrong choice, and that I was doing what was best for her and I.

Since reading the book and following the tips and advice, my daugther has had already started to react differntly to my departures. Through the games that Elizabeth suggests in her book and some valuable pieces of advice, I have shown my daughter that my leaving the room is NOT a bad thing, and now am able to carry on with simple household tasks without her being underfoot or throwing a fit.

I reccommend for any parent that is trying to deal with a little one who just won't let go, even an inch to read this book. My fiance and I were at wits end before reading this book, and now have hope that we can work through this.

This is the first parenting book that I read, and certainly won't be the last on of hers that I read. The chapters are easy to read, and are divided into subjects that are relevent and age specific, and are reassuring no matter what situation you are dealing with.

Elizabeth Pantley came through for me yet again!

Elizabeth Pantley's books and advice, full of compassionate, empathetic suggestions, have been absolutely invaluable to me in my four and a half years (so far!) of parenting. Having two hard-core "Mamma's Boys" (age 4.5 and 1.5), I was so excited when I first heard that she was coming out with a book that would help me make those morning day-care drop-offs smoother and easier. As always, Elizabeth is full of reassuring explanations that help me understand what my boys are going through. Rather than looking at separation anxiety as "problem" that needs solving, she focuses on how to connect with your children, help them to understand and get past their fears, ease through the transitions, and enjoy their day knowing Mommy and Daddy are loving them all day and will be back for them at the end of it. She enables us parents to be successful by encouraging us to customize our approach to each child, recognizing that we parents know our children best. By consistently implementing just two of her key suggestions -- one being the magic bracelet -- my 18 month-old has truly turned a corner. Many of you, I'm sure, know the feeling of going to work with the image of your child's last look at you -- shocked, crying, clinging -- stuck in your mind for the rest of the day, so you can imagine the happiness of this relieved mom!

    Great Tips and Ideas

I love her! Every book is just what I need for support in dealing with my child.
No Cry Separation Anxiety has great ideas and tips for a stress free transition.

Like her other books, there are many choices and ideas to try. You should be able to find one that works for your family. Elizabeth's style is loving and gentle.

Separation Anxiety is something that I never really thought about, when we got hit with a bout of it when my daughter was just 2 years old. I didn't know where to turn. Elizabeth Pantley saved the day!

    Helpful and compassionate

I was thrilled to hear E. Pantley was writing another No Cry Solution book. I feel the topic on separation anxiety is sometimes overlooked.
This book offers practical advice that is also compassionate. Whether you are dealing with issues as leaving your child at day care or just for going out for the day, this book will give you lots of wonderful advice.

I have been working on implementing them with my three year old. The biggest thing that was eye opening for me was reading the signs. Before I just looked at the situation at hand. Now I can read the signs a head of time. This can help make a transition for her a bit more comfortable.
What I also find helpful about this book is it is geared for children up to 6. Many parents may not realize that their older children are experiencing separation anxiety with certain behaviors. So this can be helpful for an older child as well.
    Lots of good insight throughout.
