The Dian Fossey biography to start with

Nearly twenty years after the murder of Dian Fossey, Camilla de la Boyodere gives us a modern biographical update of the mysterious, tragic and inspiring life of Dian Fossey. When I first read the description of this book online, I expected a series of letters and pictures that would comprise a disjointed overview of Fossey's life. Instead, De la Boyodere ties these letters together with significant passages of biographical information. Though not as thorough as Harold Hayes' The Dark Romance of Diane Fossey, De la Boyodere largely succeeds with her attempt to cover the breadth of Fossey's intricate life story. One of the book's excellent features is the use of photos and graphics. There are pictures of many people people mentioned in other biographies on Diane Fossey and in Gorillas in the Mist that I had not seen before. I recommend that those interested in Dian Fossey start with No One Loved Gorillas More book because it is both comprehensive and visual, though not as detailed as the other major biographies by Hayes and Farley Mowat. This book is also brief enough to present the reader with a casual interest in Dian Fossey a more factual account of her life than the greatly ficticious movie Gorillas in the Mist or even the questionable account Dian Fossey gives about her own life in the book with the same title.
