    RECOMMENDED BUT LEFT WISHING...

The concept of arrogant vampires is a tradition in romance, which makes this above the rest. The characters are adorable and fated the moment they get together. It's a soul searching road towards one getting over fears from the past and the other dealing with the limitations of what he is. I enjoyed this book until the end. I felt it was a let down. Both had realized their dreams come true yet, because he's vampire there could be no happy ending. Very few romance stories end up this way so I find it difficult to accept it as one. The writer hints at the end that she would like to believe these two got back together a week or a month or somewhere down the road. I would like to have had an epilogue to that end too. Oh, well.

    Pretty good...

NOCTURNE, by Syrie James, is a romantic tale of two people stuck in a cabin together during a blizzard storm. As the time ticks by, their desire for each other grows until it becomes overwhelming.

The synopsis I read when looking at this book had no indication of being a vampire book. I went into this book blind to the 'secrets' of both main characters. The sexual tension between Michael and Nicole was definitely steamy and I liked the development of their relationship very much.

The history of Michael and how he became a vampire was fairly typical and did not stand out among the abundance of vampire books that are bursting from bookstore shelves. But besides the paranormal aspect, I did enjoy this book. It was definitely a "get away from reality for a few hours" novel. I let myself fall into the story and the characters.

My favorite part of this book besides the romantic scenes was the ending. It went to a place I never thought it would and was bittersweet but perfect. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to escape for a few hours into a romantic story.
