An amazing book, really changed my life
I cannot recommend this book enough. Sheryl Canter is an expert on how to learn to eat normally rather than diet all the time. her approach is wise, kind, helpful and informative. The book gives guidelines that are easy to follow and very powerful. There is also an online support group which is very useful as well. After years of dieting and doing all sort of rule based programmes, I am finally practing a method of eating which feels sane, exciting and workable. If you are in any way wanting a more sane and joy filled approach to eating, then please read and buy this wonderful book.

A wonderful book and a fantastic program
This book is a real gift to anyone struggling with weight issues. It presents a clear, well-structured method for getting off the diet roller coaster and finding peace (even joy!) with food, exercise, etc. No nonsense - every word in the book is sensible, meaningful, and grounded in reality.
The author, a highly qualified professional, also offers an online forum that is just fantastic. For a minimal fee, one can interact with many other people on the same path and gain constant inspiration from the huge backlog (many thousands!) of posts available on every conceivable aspect of this process.
The author is a very active participant, providing wise, sensible advice and guidance, and the members of the forum offer wonderful warm support. How nice to have this at one's fingertips every day.
I can't say enough positive things about the book, especially combined with the beautiful interactions with the people on the forum, whose success and enthusiasm are so wonderfully contagious.

It changed my life. Really.
I know it sounds ridiculous, but this book and the accompanying website changed my life and set me on the path to good physical and mental health. I am no longer on an endless roller coaster of dieting and binging. I don't spend countless hours pouring over diet books and magazines or reading menus (yes, I read menus). I am finally ALIVE and ACTIVE. I used other non-diet books and resources as well, but this book was the keystone. I highly recommend it to anyone who seeks to be more healthy and struggles with excessive dieting or compulsive eating. If you want to lose 10 lbs. by next weekend, this is not the book for you. But who wants to do that when you can have an entire life free of compulsion?
