Love this Jennifer LaBrecque series, but....
This particular book kind of irked me for a very silly reason, actually. Mind you, I live in Alaska and was raised in this small town where I'm also raising MY daughter, so.... If you're going to write about Alaska, you better be spot-on! At one point the size of the mosquitos is mentioned, and it's commented upon that a great many Alaskans view the mosquioto as the "national bird of Alaska". BIG issue with that. Alaska is a STATE, a part of the United States of America, NOT a seperate nation. In reality, we jokingly refer to the mosquito (esp. the huge ones that come out early in the spring) as the "STATE bird of Alaska". I know..... just a typo really.... A little editorial error, but what can I say. I'm picky that way. If you're going to write about my state, get it right! Other than that, this wasn't my FAVORITE in the series.... Just didn't have quite the flow that the other books in the series have. And the issues between Sven's family & Juliette felt forced & were reconciled TOO smoothly. Felt false. Wasn't a BAD book. Not sorry I spent the money on it, but not one of the better.
