I really enjoyed this book. It had a lot going for it, humor, romance, mystery and a cute plot. I liked the people, they had belivable personalities and were not the perfect, smart, skinny, well to do, never make a mistake characters, most authors write about these days. I liked the dog which acted like a dog, instead of a human. This book did not contain cursing, sex, or violent mayham, it was just a good, fast read. There were some slow parts and few items made me say "huh?" There is one sore spot I have for many of these reporter women as heroine books, no police force would let a citizen investigate and interfere with an ongoing case. There were a few grammer mistakes and a bit of bad punctuation, but this was not at all annoying as they were so few. This book was about 400 pages long on my nook. I think young teens could read this if they are mature readers. Adults from the young at heart, to seniors would get a kick out this story.

This book was a disappointment. The settings were never described well enough to envision. Numerous characters were tossed in for seemingly no reason (also not described well enough to picture). The story was choppy. Isolated scenarios had nothing to do with the main story. And to end it all, the mystery was NEVER solved. Yes, we find a bad person at the end who's arrested, but the story states the person "wasn't implicated in the murders." Sooo... nothing is solved. Since we still don't know who murdered Vivian Klinger or why. There are also total nonsense scenes. There's no explanation for why Martha was out in the middle of nowhere when Rose last meets her. Why did Rose go there? Why was Martha there? Martha's reaction makes no sense either.
This seems like an early attempt from a potentially budding author who needs some coaching and pointers.
