Fabulous, frothy fun
I wasn't sure whether to buy this book or not, despite being an avid Rachel Gibson fan, due to the poorer than usual reviews here. Eventually I caved (of course) and I'm so glad that I did. Okay, so it's not great classic literature, but it's still a heck of a lot better than a lot of the so-called chick-lit out there. If you're a Rachel Gibson fan you may agree that it's not quite on a par with 'See Jane Score', but neither was it the worst that she's ever written (that would be 'It Must Be Love' by my reckoning), and I fully intend to keep 'Not Another Bad Date' alongside all Rachel Gibson's other novels on my bookshelf.
The book forms part of a very loose quartet based on the love lives of four writers, but don't panic if you haven't read the others, as each book stands alone. Adele is a quirky sci-fi author who feels she's been cursed to only ever have bad dates, and handsome football star Zack just could be the cure. But will they let the bad experience in their past get in the way of finding happiness? If you're new to this author then sit back and enjoy a deliciously frothy, fun romance; if you're a fan then let Rachel Gibson work her magic on you again and don't let a few poor reviews put you off. I really wanted to give this novel 4 and a half stars but that wasn't an option!3 out of 4 people found this review helpful.

Another Great Rachel Gibson book!
I love Rachel Gibson's books!! I loved the Chinook hockey series and loved this series! I loved Adele's story and how things worked out for her. I like the background stories and how you get to catch up what was happening with Adele's friends. I laughed and cried with Adele. Keep up the good work Rachel!!

It's a must read book!
Not Another Bad Date, by Rachel Gibson, is an excellent book that you will not want to set down. It¿s about a woman named Adele Harris who goes back to a small town in Texas where she grew up, to help her pregnant sister, after her sister¿s husband leaves her for another woman. Adele has to take care of her middle school niece, whose friends dad is a man who broke Adele¿s heart fourteen years ago. Zach Zemaitis was a man Adele, dated while in college. Whom she lost to a girl who had it all, and who also made Adele¿s high school years absolutely miserable. Zach had become an NFL player, and began coaching the high school football team. In addition to becoming an NFL player and coach, Zach also became a widower. After bumping into Zach, he makes multiple attempts to talk to Adele, and tries to get back what they had in college. But, Adele wasn¿t interested, in her opinion it was better for her to move on. However, that didn¿t stop Zach. He tries everything to get Adele, and eventually she gives in, and decides to give Zach a chance. Like every relationship, there are going to be romantic moments, and twists, which is exactly what happens to Adele and Zach. Later in the book, they encounter a major obstacle that will you on the edge of your seat.

The main message in, ¿Not Another Bad Date,¿ is to have confidence, go by your own instincts, and to be careful of what you say. That is Exactly what Adele did, and eventually learned. It¿s and excellent book I was very indecisive about reading this book because it really didn¿t look appealing to me, but I¿m glad I did. I enjoyed the story line, and It¿s a book that many adults, and possibly people in high school can really relate to. I would give this book a 4 out of 5 rating. I give it that rating because, I didn¿t like how the end of the book ended so quickly. Also, how the ending was very predictable. Reading this book makes me want to go buy her other books, and read those as well. I definitely recommend this to any females, who enjoy funny, girly, and eventful books. I wouldn¿t recommend this book to any guys however. -
Ahhhh---mazing doesn't begin to describe!
This was my first Rachel Gibson book and absolutely loooved it!! She kinda cross referenced a few of her character from another book of her's that I started. This book was full of juicy gossip, deff a girls book club! :)

Must read book!!!
I believe that people should read this book. This book is a fun book that some high school students and even adults can relate to. This book definitely kept me wondering what would happen next. I loved how the parts in the book would leave you hanging until the next chapter making you want to read on. It was interesting how I could relate to this book considering I have had a few bad dates. I did give this book a 4 star rating. What I didn't like about the book is that the ending was wrapped up very quickly and I wish the ending was a little more detailed. Even though the ending was not clear and dissapointing I think this is a must read love story.

Okay for Rachel
So I love Rachel Gibson. She generally has everything I love in a good Romance novel. This book...not so much. It was okay...I liked parts and really rolled my eyes at others. The whole heaven reference was stupid. Plus, I didn't really get to know the characters as well as you do in her other books. Couldn't really tell what motivated them as people. So not her best work but I can't hate it because its Rachel.

A MUST READ!!!!
I loved this book.... one of my favorites from Rachel. You just love the story behind Adele and Zach. I loved how her fate of horrible dates was because of a very unexpected source. Its too funny, i laughed out loud. The chemistry between the couple is great and I love the story line.

Not Another Bad Date
I love Rachel Gibson's books but this one was just...ok. The story took WAY TOO LONG to pick up (I would have stopped reading it but I have a thing about finishing a book I start) and when it finally did, everything happened so fast.I didn't feel that Zach and Adele had a connection and I really didn't like either character. I was disappointed.

This is a whimsical second chance at love romance
Science fiction and fantasy author Adele Harris leaves Boise to go home to Cedar Creek, Texas to help her pregnant older sister Sherrilyn who is in the hospital while her husband William moved in with his college age assistant Stormy. Adele is caring for her thirteen years old niece Kendra. She thinks of Zach Zemaitis who broke her heart fourteen years ago.------------------- A former professional football player and U of Texas legend, the widower Zach is trying to raise his ten year old daughter in Tiffany in his late wife¿s hometown. This forces him to pretend he cared about Devon who was a malicious person and the cause of his break up with his beloved Adele. Zach is stunned to see Adele, who he never stopped loving, but knows she will never forgive him for the big hurt. Meanwhile in the afterlife Devon Hamilton-Zemaitis must pay for her bad karma on earth as dying by crashing into a garbage truck is fitting but not enough her job is to bring Adele and Zach together, the way it should have been.--------------------- This is a whimsical second chance at love romance in which the paranormal is kept to a minimal, but brings karma and humor to the mix. Readers will relish Zach¿s efforts to regain what he lost years ago while Adele wants to avoid him like the plague. Devon brings humor to the mix starting with her former late schoolteacher lecturing her, a trip to Wal-Mart and the need for her as pompous mother to back off from interfering in her mission. Rachel Gibson provides a warm Texas contemporary with a conniving matchmaker from beyond.----------------- Harriet Klausner

a funny delight
Rachel Gibson delivers another sure fire winner in Not Another Bad Date. ____________ Adele Harris can¿t believe the back luck she has been having with men. They start out normal and then it¿s like a switch is thrown and the jerk factor comes pouring out. After her latest date from hell she gets a frantic phone call from her sister. Seems her sister¿s husband has left her and her pregnancy is in danger. Adele comes rushing back to her home town of Cedar Creek to help her sister and her sister¿s teenage daughter. Just her luck her niece¿s her friend is the daughter of the man that dumped her in college. ____________ Zach Zemaitis returns to his hometown after the death of his wife to raise their daughter. With his NFL career over he is now coaching high school football, he is trying to give his daughter a normal life. He is blindsided by the girl that got away when he sees her on his porch one day. _____________ With Adele¿s sister now in the hospital with a high risk pregnancy, Adele is acting as a parent to her niece, Kendra. With Kendra spending time with Zach¿s daughter Tiffany, Zach and Adele keep running into each other. _____________ Old feelings and a sizzling attraction keep pulling them together. Can these two get past their trust issues and learn to take a chance on love? ______________ Not Another Bad Date by Rachel Gibson will make you laugh, cry and fall in love. Adele and Zach are richly written characters. Their love and pain is real and will touch your heart. Ms. Gibson¿s books are auto-buys for me and this book is no exception. It¿s definitely a keeper.
