OMG Series is nothing short of fantastic!

A romantic thriller not to miss. Karen Rose's writing is superb and her characters are compelling. I will re-read this series numerous times. I think this is the last book in the series and is just as good as the first if not better. Don't miss it!

    Good Read

This is the first book I've read by Karen Rose & I have to say its a page turner. The plot is well written & keeps you asking the question 'why' way beyond the first few chapters. I'll be adding her to my list of favorite authors!

    Jennifer Wardrip - Personal Read

Author Karen Rose jumped on my favorite authors list with her first release back in 2003, DON'T TELL. With her latest release, NOTHING TO FEAR, she's impressed me so much that I'll be buying her books as long as she keeps writing them. Romantic suspense has always been, and will undoubtedly continue to be, my favorite genre, and no one does it better than Ms. Rose. Heart-pounding action, hard-core suspense, passionate romance, and characters that pull you into the story are her trademarks, and NOTHING TO FEAR has all of that, and more.

In the first chapter of the book, you know what happens, and you know who does it. What you don't know, and don't find out for quite awhile, is why the bad guys go to the length of evil that they do to terrorize one particular family. And finding that out is worth the read.

Stan and Randi Vaughn have had their worst nightmares come to life. Their son, twelve-year-old Alex, has been kidnapped. It's bad enough that the boy is probably scared to death, but he's also deaf, so his terror is even more palpable. Having already witnessed the murder of Paul McMillan, the fiance of his speech therapist, Cheryl Rickman, Alex is thrust into running for his life with a mad-woman. Yes, in this story, the villain is a woman, and a truly insane one, at that. Now Cheryl has been murdered in cold blood and dumped by the roadside, and it's up to Alex to keep his wits and stay alive.

Alex's parents have called on Ethan Buchanan, a security expert with a private investigator's license, to find and rescue their son. Ethan stresses to the distraught parents that he's not a policeman, but Stan and Randi are adamant-the ransom note left behind after Alex's disappearance states that the authorities are not to be involved, or their son will end up like Paul McMillan. Taking the kidnappers at their word, Mr. and Mrs. Vaughn convince Ethan to search for Alex-and his investigation takes him to a train station in Chicago in the middle of the night to look at security surveillance tapes.

While there, Ethan takes notice of Dana Dupinsky, a woman who seems to have secrets of her own. Why is she hanging around a train station in the dead of night? Why does she look so nervous, and act as if he's the devil incarnate? And why do sparks fly between him and this woman he's just met?

Dana has secrets of her own, the first and foremost being that she runs Hanover House, a shelter for abused women. Dana's goal in life is to rescue as many needy women and children as possible, and to help them escape the lives of terror that they led. Now, though, there's a murderer within the walls of her sanctuary, and she doesn't even know it.

As Ethan's mission coincides with Dana's, and as bodies start piling up in Chicago, this man and woman learn that trust is earned, that love runs deep, and that rescuing a child from danger is the most important job of all.

NOTHING TO FEAR is an absolute gem. It's definitely earned a place on my keeper shelf, and I look forward to reading it again and again. This is what true romantic suspense is all about, and I thank Ms. Rose for such a wonderful read.

    Great Book!!

This is my first time ever reading a book by Karen Rose (as I usually read Stephen King or Thomas Mann books), so I was a little hesitant. It was on the discount table at my local B&N store, and I decided to buy it and give it a chance. I have to admit that this book is excellent!!! The plot is great, and it has a lot of twists & surprises & suspense. The romantic interaction between the main characters is intense, without overpowering the whole story... The characters are well developed, and relatable...I will definitely be purchasing a lot more of Karen's books!! My only regret is that I didn't discover her work sooner!!! Anyone who reads this book will not be disappointed..!! :-)

    Fabulous

I loved this book like all her other books. This book has so many twists and turns that it would be a great made for TV movie. I just wish Karen could write faster.

Nothing To Fear is NOTHING to miss--another great read by Ms. Rose!

Security expert Ethan Buchannan is in WAY over his head. But because of a bad case of survivor's guilt, and love, he has agreed to fight time and try to stay out of the police's notice while searching for Alec Vaughn, his deaf godson, who has been kidnapped. The kidnapping resulted in a brutal killing, and the dissapearance of both Alec and his speech therapist, Cheryl. Alec's parents have been told that if they notify the police, Alec will die. Being a security expert, Ethan is quickly able to trace the email that was sent to the Vaughn's, and from there follow the trail that the woman who has taken Alec leaves. He quickly ends up in Chicago. While getting permission to search the video of a train station, Ethan meets Dana Dupinsky. He's immediately intrigued with the sizzle from the spunky Dana--who is she, what is she doing in a train station in the middle of the night?--but he can't loose focus on finding Alec. Dana Dupinsky has every reason to avoid the hunky Ethan. She can tell immediately that he has secrets of his own, but the secrets she's hiding are too sacred to share with any MAN. But what she doesn't tell, and what she keeps Ethan from finding out when she doesn't share her secrets--is that she runs a battered womens shelter where she gives refuge to women and children who come to her--she keeps there whereabouts hidden from all, to the point that there are times she helps them dissapear forever. And what neither of them know is that she's got Alec and his kidnapper in her shelter... Ethan and Dana's attraction to one another cannot be denied...but they're both caught up in a whirl wind...Dana's best friend is hit by a car in a hit and run...the Vaughn's receive more threatening emails...a doctor for the shelter winds up dead...and bodies are turning up all over Chicago. Ms. Rose pens an incredibly suspensful and moving story. While we know who dunnit form the get go, we don't why, and the curves that come up along the way make this an incredible roller coaster of suspense. The pages sizzle with emotion from Dana and Ethan, and I found myself falling for yet another of Ms. Rose's secondary charachters (when is Clay's book, anyway??). Not to be missed reading!!
