This book is a wonderful story about a little boy. Just when his life had looked so bleak he found love and acceptance.
The author did a wonderful job of keeping the story alive and keep the reader wondering what was going to happen next. I could not put this book down until I knew this little boy was going to be ok. I loved all the characters, they all had such big hearts. I highly recommend this book. You are going to fall in love with this little boy!

This is my second book by Karen, but won't be my last. I love her writing style and love how she makes you fall in love with all the charaters. Karen is an amazing writer!! Looking forward to all her books! She is my new favorite author!

Two cats

Hi. This is Joyfeather and Braveheart with a special story. Its dark. The crickets are chirpping in the yard. The gentle moonlight reveals two people in old rocking chairs: you and the storyteller. You're nervous. The storyteller begins to speak. He spoke of how long ago the englishmen fought for land, and soon that time would come again. You look at him. You think he's crazy. Then there are several gunshots in the distance. Screaming follows. Your eyes widen in terror. You look at the storyteller. He starts rocking on the chair and chuckling. "Told you so," he said in a calm voice. He turns into vapor and mistifies in the air. Your mouth falls open in terror. A bullet just then whizzs by your face. You run. Faster. Faster. Faster. The bullets keep shooting. Your foot trips over a root and you fall down a steep hill. You hit the tree at the bottom. Shear pain shoots across your back. You look at the top of the hill. There the storyteller stands, pointing the gun at you. He shoots. Its over. Or is it? You wake up by a clear river. Your body haves no cuts or scratches, but your inside is terrible damaged. You keep having glimpes of the night before. You take your shoes off and wade into the river. The water feels amazing on your throbbing legs. After a few minutes you turn around. The storyteller stands there. "What do you want?" You say cautionly. The storyteller sneers, "To suffer the way I suffered." You smile, "You just shot me, what else do you want. I died. And now I'm alive. Happy?" The storyteller replies, "I died a thousand times. You will do the same." You laugh. Then you pin him against a tree,"Listen," you say,"I don't ever...EVER...want to see you again," He vaporizes again. A few days later you reach your town. You read the newspaper. It read that your family is dead. You find the old storyteller and kill him. THE END!
