    Must-Have Breed Book

As a person who has a large collection of horse-related books as well as a half-dozen books on horse breeds alone, I have to say that this is one of the best I have come across.

The information in it comes primarily from the registries who look after the breed they represent and is quite in-depth. There are many breeds in here that you would be hard-pressed to find information on anywhere else. The fact that is was recently published means that the information is up-to-date and includes breeds like the Don, which have only been in the USA for a few short years.

The photography is excellent and the detail unsurpassed. Most books on horse breeds barely spit out a paragraph on each one, and if you're lucky, perhaps a page. Here you can find pages and pages on most any breed you can think of, so long as they have a registry within the USA. There are some gaps, but that is only due to the breed having no presence here, it more than makes up for its US-oriented scope by the depth of information that it gives!
