    Well written but slow

It was a great read, but incredibly slow. I ended up reading On the Beach and another book at the same time. On the Beach was slow but written wonderfully. If you are looking for a challenging but wonderful 1960's future fiction, this is the book for you.

    What is a classic?

I belive that there is too much 'hype' over this book. It took a long time to get into but thats where the treat was. You begin to feel imence empathy for the chracters in the end. Even for the Dog that was only mentioned at the end. I found it difficult to say who the main character was, it seamed to shift.

    Wow, what a classic (sarcasm)

This book bored me. Why is this called a classic? The idea of the novel was unique, but the writing was too focused on details, and not plot changes. I would rather read a more exciting or philisophical book that has some sustance.

    On the Beach

This book was rather confusing. At the beginning they talked in military talk, and it was hard to understand. It was hard to get into this book because the plot and characters were not very developed.
