Charlotte Wylde has spent her year of marriage being belittled by both her older husband and his servants. When he is killed by footpads she doesn't mourn his passing. But when she finds out he spent her entire dowry, and the stipulations placed in his will regarding his belongings, she is furious. If she sells any of his antiquities collection the whole lot, along with the house, goes to a museum, leaving her with nothing.

Left alone with only her loyal maid she is frightened when the house is broken into one night. Her husband's nephew, Sir Alexander Wylde, offers to let her stay in his home along with his two teen sisters and his aunt. They are attracted to each other, but Alec is already overburdened with responsibilities, and due to issues from his childhood, he doesn't believe in love. When most of the antiquities are found to be fakes they work together to find out how this came about.

I really liked the characters in this book. While Alec was overwhelmed with responsibilities, he was also a kind man, though a bit set in his ways. Charlotte sent a breath of fresh air into his household. The sisters, aunt and even a cat made for great secondary characters. And there is even another romance in this book, that of Charlotte's maid and Alec's footman.

ONCE AGAIN A BRIDE by Jane Ashford is an exciting historical rom

ONCE AGAIN A BRIDE by Jane Ashford is an exciting historical romance. Follow,Charlotte Wylde and Sir Alexander Wylde,on a journey of passion, danger, second chances, secrets and love. Also, follow secondary characters, Lucy Bowman,Charlotte's lady maid and Ethan Trask, Sir Alex's footman as they navigate their attraction to each other.

Charlotte finally has her freedom when her demoralizing, recluse of a husband is murdered or so she thought. Sir Alex has his hands full with his two younger sisters, keeping his estate intact, and now his uncle has left him in charge of his estate with some usual requests. As if this was not enough, Alex finds himself, fighting his attraction to his uncle's lovely wife. An emotional story from beginning to end. Alex and Charlotte learn to trust each other slowly,as danger hovers underneath family secrets no one saw coming. A Regency adventure that will have you turning pages,a romance filled with passion, intrigue, mystery, and a bit of humor. Oh, who doesn't enjoy a feisty, twelve year old who gets into trouble quiet often. "Once Again A Bride" is filled with charm, engaging characters, and an intriguing plot. I enjoyed how the author, interweaves two stories into one, with her main and secondary characters. A great read for anyone who enjoys historical romance, dark family secrets,Regency England, drama, and love. Received for an honest review from the publisher.

    Good book

I like the way the writer is able to write two love stories in one. I like Ethan & Lucy's story because most historical romances do not write about the lives of the hired help,
