    I Also Recommend:

Wonderful book but the DVD is better

I bought the book and the DVD on this because my potty training program " The Potty Boot Camp" recommended it as a great way to explain the potty process to my child. At first, I was like eh, it is an okay book. However, once I began potty training it was perfect. We read the book throughout the day and watched the accompanying DVD as well. It helped to reinforce visually what I was telling my child to do. I would say that the DVD is better and really all that is necessary if your child can be on the potty and watch TV.

    Learn the basics

My son has this book and I used its pictures to teach him how, and he learned.

    Great aid for new parents

I bought this book when my son was two and it helped quite a bit in his potty training. I remember him bringing it to the bathroom with him to 'follow the pictures.'

    pleasantly surprised

This is the only potty book anyone will ever need! We had tried several other potty books and this one was recommended so we bought it and my sons were just amazed by it. Something clicked and his started going on the potty with a couple of weeks after we started reading it (he had just turned 4).

    Potty-trained in 1 day!

I had been dreading potty-training my 3-yr old son and kept putting it off because of all the horror stories I¿ve heard about how hard it is to potty-train boys. My daughter (now 6) was potty-trained at 2 ½ and it took her about a week. I figured my son would take months with messes after messes after messes. Well, we read Once Upon A Potty every single night for the month before I even tried the potty chair. He loves this book and it was the only story he wanted for weeks. I am sure that this was a huge help in getting him to understand what going to the big potty means. This is the 2nd week for him, and other than the first day, we haven't had a single accident. We still use pull ups for naps and bedtime, but otherwise it is priceless seeing him in his Spiderman or Bob The Builder underwear! And he is so proud of himself for being a big boy now!

Our son basically potty trained himself with this book!!!

We first happened upon "Once Upon a Potty" when our son was around 2 1/2yrs. of age. We never pushed for potty training but first began reading the book before he turned three. There really was no "training" involved in getting him to go in the potty, this book, the text and illustrations are informative and entertaining while correctly explaining to toddlers how everything works and where the pee pee and poo poo are supposed to go. It really introduces the "potty" to children in a way that is easy for them to understand and takes the guesswork out of explaination of toilet training our toddlers. Our firstborn son wore out his book, reading and re-reading it and we are purchasing our second book for our second son and I am sure he will read it cover to cover and have it thoroughly memorized in a very short time! We LOVED this book!

    love it in hawaii

My youngest daughter (Kelly) is 16, she had this book as a youngster. In fact she had memorized it before entering kindergarten and recited it to her teacher on the first day of school. Now I have 4 great grand nephews whom I bought them copies, potty training will never be the same in our family. Joshua and Prudence are house hold names. Would not surprise me if one of my children name their own child after these characters. This is a must read book for all toddlers but more so for there parents. The first time my husband and I read this book in the children's book store we laughed so hard they almost kicked us out of the store. We have even used this text as social entertainment at family gatherings, haven't read it during cocktail paties but I bet it would work, let me know if you have success at your next party.... reads best to adults with young children, but even grandma's seem to get a kick (shock) out of it.

    'Potty' a huge success story!!!!!!!

When my son was 6 and finally learned to read, my boyfriend and I decided it was time to potty-train him. We asked around for useful resources, and this was on the top of everyone's list, HANDS DOWN! Well he caught on really fast. Now my son 'Josh' (as we like to call him now) knows all about his bottom and what the holes are used for.

    funny & informative

This book is the best! I laughed aloud the first time I read this book and couldn't wait to have my friends read it. It explains the whole potty milestone in an informative and entertaining way. I love when Joshua and his mother go...'Bye Bye poo poo, Bye Bye pee pee.'
