Don't you just love when a confirmed bachelor realizes that he has made a big, big mistake by letting the greatest girl in the world get away and then comes back on his hands and knees years later to beg forgiveness and a shot at another try? If you follow Lauren Dane's Chase Brothers series, then you are already acquainted with Nathan Murphy, Tate Chase's brother, the school teacher. If you have not followed the series you will want to once you read this super little story.

Lily Travis is a successful, well-adjusted career woman who gives up her job, her apartment and her life to come home and to assume guardianship to her truant brother, Chris. Her first trip to school brings her right up against her one time love Nathan Murphy. One look at Lily and Nathan is a goner. His memory of their time together reminds him of his biggest mistake in life.letting her get away!!

With so much time to make up for, so many people in her life and responsibilities to attend to, romance is the last thing on Lily's mind. But Nathan always had a way of getting to the inner core of her soul. A future with Nathan back in Petal is not what she expected when she returned home but now it is the only thing she wants!

Lauren Dane is so talented and creative when it comes to character development. She brings to the forefront the perfections and the flaws of each of her engaging characters. Nathan is the perfect specimen of a man physically but is so flawed emotionally. His scarred childhood and his misguided attempt to move on after Lily make you want to shake him and say "Don't blow this again!". However his desperation to make things right once again prove how great he really is. Lily has so much on her plate but it is a future with Nathan that is just what she needs to make her life complete. Her love never wavered all these years and he needs and wants to be her soft place to land. This short story is so full of emotion that you can't help but deeply feel every little twist and turn.

It's sexy, steamy and so much fun. With the multitude of Chases and Murphys along for the ride, there is no way that this cannot be a happily ever after for Lily and Nathan.

Cute

This book was a cute branch off story. I loved reading about the characters from Petal and watching love blossom.

Good book.. strong characters and good plot

Loved catching up with the action in Petal. Loved Lily a lot and Nathan was ok. Not sure it was believable all the way through. Seemed a bit forced and hated the end. It was rushed and.... rushed. I really loved the Chase brothers and loved catching up..... maybe the Murphy series would get better.... there are a lot of them so the author will have many opportunities to make them as amazing ad the Chase brothers

New series spun off from the Chase Brothers.. I like it!

    Fun quick read

I really enjoyed the love story and the history between the characters. This should be added as the 5th book in the Chase Brothers series. This book does stand on its own with the characters, but is much more enjoyable with the added back ground from the previous 4 books about the town and families. And believe me if you like the sex sense here then you won¿t want to miss the ones with the Chase brothers. Perfect tub time read.

Great book Lauren Dane is one of my new favorite authors...

I really enjoyed this book, it kept a good steady pace and was not predictable. If you enjoy Nora Roberts or Fern Michaels you will really enjoy Lauren Dane. I am now looking for more of Laurens books to read. The story was sweet, small town girl runs off to make it in the big city but finds after coming back her life is empty...
Great tension in the romantic scenes and the feeling of small town life and gossip really comes out in this book. The internal workings of the family units were great too.

Great add-on to the end of a series

Haven't read anything Lauren Dane has written I didn't like. I really like the way she adds in updated information on characters from her previous series. Good book

Highly Recommended- if you're a fan of this author

Dane needs to right faster. I love that I was able to catch up with the characters of the previous series. Once and Again was a quick read, but it left me wanting more. Dane is author I just started reading and now I'm addicted.

    more from this reviewer

    Read!

This book was really good just like the rest of her books. I did like the Chase series more, but this one is connected to them. I look forward to her next in the series!

    Lovely Romance!

Love Petal, Ga. The continual story following the Chases and Murphys. This romance focused more on the Murphy side (Nathan Murphy and Lily) this time. Cute story, however, it ended a little abruptly for me.
