Great Weekender!!

I enjoyed this book very much. Not very long so it is a great weekend, poolside, beachside, or vacation read! Kept me interested all the way through. The characters were smalltown and cute to me. They were also described very well. Reading the second one in the series now...hoping to read one per weekend! I hope the author continues on with this series.

Delicious!

After Meg was downsized from her job and couldn't pay her rent, she decided to take her mother up on her offer. She moved out to the house that's been in the family for years in order to fix it up and sell it, splitting the profits with her mother. What she thought would be a month's worth of work for virtually no money, Meg's come to realize that she's going to have to bust butt and spend a great deal to sell the house at a reasonable rate. When her ex-boyfriend shows up on her doorstep looking to make a developmental deal for the town, Meg doesn't quite know what to make of him. She knows even less when he turns up dead in her back year the next day. Since the townspeople consider Meg an outsider, she's the perfect suspect. Can Meg clear her name and her reputation?

A great start to a new series; I'm looking forward to reading more. Great descriptions and just a dash of romance rounds out the book.

Our book group really enjoyed the local interest this book held

Our book group really enjoyed the local interest this book held for us, most of the group lives in the town where the book was set. Members felt that it was a fun, easy and fast read....great for the beach! The mystery line held our attention and we look forward to reading other books in the "Orchard Mystery Series". There are some great apple recipes in the back of the book as a bonus.

I thought the title very appropriate

This has been a very intriguing mystery. Just when I thought I had the killer in sight I was thrown a curve ball. I had the aha moment when the killer was revealed and I did give that person consideration. A good read, though I do not fully understand why a good writer has to pepper with cussing.

Good light reading book

Not the top reader maybe, but definitely have read much worse. It is a good light reading. I think the biggest "fault" I could say about it is not really any suspense. But I am enjoying reading it.

Where can you find a book that even offers a receipe too!

It is a book I read about one year ago and I am still remembering it. It
is one of the best books I have read and I am eargerly awaiting the next!

There is a delightful charm to this small town regional cozy

Months after her boyfriend dumped her, Meg Corey¿s job is made redundant when her bank merges with a larger one. Her mother comes up with a solution that will occupy Meg for the next few months. They own property in Grandford, New England that includes a house and an apple orchard. He was in town to sell the concept of a strip mall and had many enemies with a motive to kill him.---------------- There is a delightful charm to this small town regional cozy. The protagonist works the homicide because the police officer leading the investigation considers her the prime person of interest. Sheila Connolly provides a fascinating whodunit filled with surprises especially red herrings as the amateur competes with the cop to prove she is innocent by uncovering the identity of the guilty person.------------ Harriet Klausner
