This book has been in my book pile for awhile. It was like a movie that you really don't want to go see, but are dragged to, then you are pleasantly surprised. No, this is not a "Sex In the City" book. This is a fresh story about people who live at One Fifth Ave and how their everyday lives are entangled. I enjoyed and recommend.

I got this book as a birthday present and could not wait to read this as my first summer read. I can honestly say I was truly disappointed. There were too many characters and not enough story surrounding each character. I kept waiting for the story line to pick up but after around page 300 I realized it wouldn't. At that point I was too far along to stop. For me, her other books were far more superior to this one.

Hard to get through certain parts

Overall decent book but some parts were a little slow and I skimmed like crazy only reading the quotes. This book could have been shorter and nothing would have been missed.

    A rainy day read

Entertaining enough to keep you busy on a cold, rainy day. Good gift to give to that sex in the city, he's just not that into you girlfriend who's not into heavier reading. The ending is just a plane ride away.

    Just all right

I like most of Candace Bushnell's books but this one was a little disappointing. It was an okay read but it wasn't anything to get excited about. I did find it interesting to read about New York society and how self-absorbed most of her characters were. I think it was worth reading because there were a few laughs but I recommend you wait for it to come out in paperback.

A Little Slow in the Beginning

I bought this book after reading Lipstick Jungle thinking it would be along the same line. The book had a ton of characters and took me some time in the beginning to get it all figured out. The start of the book was very slow, but I made myself keep reading since my husband bought me the book. As the book went on it got better but I still found the writing style to be a little hard to follow until around Act 3. Overall the book was a good read and I did enjoy it. I wanted to kill Lola and felt she got off a little too easy. This is great for a rainy day or a night in.
