I Learned A Lot From This One!
If you want to be inspired to become more focused on others, read this book. It inspired me from a Christian perspective to not only be more generous with money, but with so much more such as kindness, time, encouragement, forgiving, hospitality, gift giving and simply listening. Debbie has written many Christian fiction books but wanted to share what she has learned about being "extravagantly generous." One Simple Act is loaded with scripture and practical examples of putting each principle into practice as well as some scientific research that lists physical and emotional benefits to those who practice an attitude of gratitude. It is very well organized and a pleasure to read!

Powerful, yet simple, stuff.
DISCOVERING THE POWER OF GENEROSITY is much more than it would appear from the title. The author relates heartwarming stories not only of generosity, but of kindness, faith, growth and spiritual deepening. Her point being that in giving something of yourself you will get far greater returns.
The book is filled with personal anecdotes and uplifting tales, as well as some light-handed personal advice for pursuing these goals yourself. She includes corresponding scripture that helps you realize the source of the message and pulls together the bible teachings and living a present day lifestyle of goodness. If only everyone in the world had this wonderful perspective...for now, one reader at a time.
Enjoy this yourself and get a copy for a friend. A great, sweet gift.1 out of 1 people found this review helpful.

I Love Debbie Macomber!
I'd also like to recommend "When God Stopped Keeping Score" by R.A. Clark. It's revealing look at the power of forgiveness. If you ever felt trapped by anger, guilt, resentment and/or pain, then this book is for you.
