Everyone sees things a bit differently

I love Lisa Kleypas, and have enjoyed all the books I have read of hers. I was a bit dissapointed when I found out that the Vallerand series was set in New Orleans vs. the UK - but it didn't take me long to be googleing information about History of Lousiana.

I think that this book is great - obviously there are people who don't agree. I very muched loved the characters and was very attached to them - hated to see it end in many ways.

PIRATES, RENEGADES, NOTORIOUS SCOUNDRELS, OH MY!!

In this Swashbuckling Erotic Romance-Adventure, lie hidden just above the surface, intrigue, deception, and mysteries that will have you gasping until the actual conclusion.

The perilous passion Celia & Griffin posses will ignite your concealed Swashbucklers Fantasy to be unfastened at the very seam. As you've been languidly lying upon your bed, just satisfied from your own release. Who needs a knight in shining armor? When you can experience your own devilishly wicked pirate instead.

I haven't read a Lisa Kleypas novel that has displeased me, thus far. As soon as I think I could escape to another author, she manages to suck me back in, and entangle me within another STUPENDOUS, RIVETING, CARNAL, ANIMALISTIC NOVEL.

This novel has my seal of approval, and as usual, ALWAYS DESERVING WELL BEYOND A 5 STAR RATING!!

    Completely and utterly amazing...

I loved how she chose to do a story not about London. For heavens sake we read enough about London in just about every historical. This was a different take on a historical and I couldn't get enough! The french in the book was great. It kept me thinking back to hs french class and remembering all the words. And to bring the story down south to NOLA it was amazing (I'm biased from south miss) but still London gets old. The whole pirate storyline I loved. The love story was a different type than any story that I've read. The match with the characters was very well thought out. The romance scenes are hot and steamy and what true love is about in bed. All and all this is one of my fav books. I will def put this book in my library to read again and again.

I really, REALLY liked this book!!!!! It stared out great in almost every aspect, except I kind of thought that Celia was a little two weak and snobbish for my tastes (I tend to like more bold and strong willed, but still kind and still totally feminine, women) but Lisa did a total switch on me. Celia had a back bone after all!! I thought the book progressed nicely. Celia and Justin first really couldn't stand each other but had an unexplainable desire for one another, then they start developing feeling for one another (feelings they both fought naturally), then they finally give in and admit that they love one another. I also loved that Justin was such a hard son of a gun at the beginning of the story but because of Celia he starts to soften and become a better man. It's the ultamite bad boy reformed story! All the girls know that it's hard to resist the bad boys and I don't think I have met one girl who tried to at least once, change a bad boy, a lot of time without success. It was nice to read that, even though fantacy, bad boys can change for the love of the right woman. READ THIS BOOK!!!!! You wont be disappointed.

    Best Book by Lisa Kleypas

I've read each and everyone of Lisa Kleypas books and this one is probably my favorite. I love the character of Ceilia and loved Justin even more. Love how they come together in the story, and the love scenes are wonderful.

    a good read

I love Lisa Kleypas and have read almost all of her books. I really enjoyed this book, its not her best but still very good (her best book is 'Again The Magic'). I liked how it was very informative on how pirates really were, many movies romanticise pirates, (pirates of the caribbean, for example). This book makes you realize how cruel they really were. Aside from that, it is a great romance. However, if you want to read this book, definitely read the prequil 'When Strangers Marry'. That was a really good book too

    Arggg Matey!

This is one of the few "pirate" historical books that I have read. I was surprised to find a Lisa K book that I hadn't read. I really liked all the pirate stuff which was a nice change of pace.

    Only With Your Love...

I enjoy historical type reading and this is based during the "pirate" error. Its been a fairly easy read, the only thing that I'm not crazy about is some of the explicit description of the love scenes. I'm not sure that I'm interested in all the details, but other than that, its a good read. The chapters could stand to be a little shorter. I've noticed that she has very long chapters. All in all, she writes well.

    Book Worm

I usually love mostly all L.K's books but this book I believe was her worst. I didn't understand why characters were flat, and the objective of the book is questionable. I was excited to read the book because of Marry to Stranger but I was highly diaappointed. If you decide to read it do not expect it to be a usual L.K. book b/c it is not.

    Happily Ever After

I am so happy with the way things happened in the end, with Justin and Celia. It was quite the adventurous story, and full of chemistry between Justin and Celia. I'm so glad to see that Phillipe survived, but very happy that the story ended nicely for everyone concerned. Have not been disappointed in anything I have read, of Ms. Kleypas' novels. I have enjoyed everyone I have read. I still have 4 more of her novels to read, and look forward to them. The only disappointment is being done with all her novels that I have.

    Gorgeous Scenery

Wow! You can almost see the spanish moss hanging from the oak trees as you are reading this book. I got caught up in the scenery with this book much more than in Lisa's English Regency books. Maybe because I am more familiar with this setting than the old English settings. This book is amazing when it comes to everything: Love scenes, scenery, the twists and turns. I could have read this book forever.

'Justin' The Pirate? Where did she come up with that one?

I have been an avid reader of historical romance novels for over 20 years now (I started in my high school years). I have found many great authors and those, well...less than great. I have read many Lisa Kleypas novels in the past and started reading again after a few years off. I had hoped this one would be great too as she often made her characters emotions very life like - you felt close to the people by the end of the story. When you hate to say good-bye to the hero and heroine - you know an author has done her work well. In this story - I had no problem saying 'au-revior' to Justin and Celia and moving on to other romance novels. I didn't feel connected in Only with Your Love. First, I just couldn't get into the name 'Justin' for the main pirate character. For one thing, he came from a French-Creole family in the south... his father was Maximillian, his mother in law Lysette, his brother Phillipe, their last names Vallerand and the main female character Celia - ALL completely French. So...where did JUSTIN come from? That's not french and not romantic or sexy for a setting in the early 1800's. Second...it was odd that Justin was already having sex with his supposed dead brothers widow only hours after meeting her. Justin and Celia were having intimate relations by page 84. That's a bit too soon for me and it should have been for Celia as well. There was over 325 pages left to go...my goodness, the intrigue, fascination and anticipation were gone already, what could be left? What a let down! It was also too easy to guess that the family was going to pretend the dead brother was alive and the alive brother dead to save Justin's hide early on...no guess work needed there. If you can get past some of this early nonsense the book does pick up and get much better later on. Wise people know know how hard it is to change people yet Justin became an entirely new man by the end of the book. Was this due to the new love of his life Celia? No...just good writing by Lisa Kleypas the author as it should be. Had she not cleaned him up - it might have been hard to see this hero in the light he was needed to be seen by. I would recommend this book, just try not to roll your eyes at a few of the strange events early on.

    this was a re- reader!

i have read many a romance novel, but this is one of those novels that makes you hold your breath and that makes you want to lock your door and unplug the telephone so that you wont be interupted. every kiss in this book i felt, and every love scene was like an adrenline rush! a must read with all the fixings of a great novel. romace, obession, devotion, pride, surrender, passion, all can be found in thise book. worth every penny and after you read it you will find that you judge every other book by it, and you'll find many come up short. i love it and re read it almost every week and its still breathtaking

    A truly moving love story

Wow! That's all I can say when I think of this novel..It is beautiful, touching, and it definitely receives the highest praises from me :) The story of Justin and Celia is very very touching, and it left an immovable imprint upon my heart. They are wonderful together. I learned more about their love for one another through their silent interactions, and not their spoken words. The love scene on pages 260-270 clarifies this point well...It really brought tears to my eyes :) Perhaps of all of Lisa's romance novels, this one has been given the least attention. However, I can honestly state that it is truly worth the money, time, and praises..
