A quick, easy read, albeit at times, tedious for the writing aficionado
This is the second book by Thomas Block that I have read, the first being Captain. Open Skies is in the same quality of story range, the same writing skills level, and the same flat character sketching ability. I was a bit taken aback, that in this day and age, we still see the prejudice of the greatest generation toward people of color and women - oh, and Tom, it's toward not towards. I have no problem with authors who utilize unique speaking quirks in their characters to enhance the sketch, but when you make grammatical errors in the narrative, that's off-putting to anyone who enjoys the proper usage of the English language. If you can look past the frustrations of the author's work, it's a decent way to spend the afternoon at the beach. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback.
