OUT OF HER LEAGUE is the first book in a five-book Romantic Suspense series. By accident, I read #3 first, then realized it was part of a series, and because I loved #3 so much, I had to purchase and read ALL of them! (I've also discovered Kaylea's other series and stand-alone books--working through those, too!) I must say I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Kaylea Cross's books.

The first third of the book set up the plot beautifully....but it didn't really grab me until the last 2/3 when the emotional connection between the H/H started to simmer. Their romance and love for one another was so believable, the dialogue incredible, I could believe they fell for each other! I loved the point of view of the villain and Rayne's parents, too, as it added so very much to the depth, heightened the tension (it's a suspense, after all), and moved the story forward quickly.

There's just something RIGHT about a book where the hero and heroine are stronger, better, more complete with each other than they ever could be without each other....that they found the ONE person they could never be so happy without....*SIGH*. What a satisfying read! But don't just stop here....you simply must read the whole series....it just keeps getting better and better from here. Congratulations, Ms. Cross--you're my newly favorite writer!

I just randomly cmae across this book while searching for a new read. I loved this book. I love the build of character relationship and I loved the fact there the story does not go straight into the sex. There is so much attraction and emotion between Rayne and Christa. This story has the perfect amount of macho protective guy plus love and suspenseful. The characters are not perfect and I think that makes me like them even more.

    Loved Rayne and Christa!

I read this book out of order from the other Suspense Series books Kaylea wrote. While it does not really fit with the other books, it sets up the background for some of the characters (Luke, Emily, Rayne, and Christa) for the other books, especially Absolution. I really like Kaylea’s writing and the way she lays out a story. I like that you get different perspectives, including the villain. She writes in a way that lets you follow several characters without veering off the storyline.

In this story, Rayne and Christa have to overcome some obstacles and PTSD which leaves them both vulnerable and hurting. They find comfort in each other as friends before they fall in love. One of the things I absolutely loved about this book is that while the heat was there between the two, they took things very slowly and fell in love with each other before they made love. You could tell Rayne and Christa felt it was a big step to take and one not to be taken lightly. I really enjoyed how their emotions and love for each other played into the few love scenes. I admired how Rayne treated his mother (Emily) and father (Luke) even if he didn’t understand everything that went on between his parents. You got a glimpse of Luke & Emily’s relationship in this book as well. Now you all have go read the rest of the series, including Absolution if you haven’t already (includes Rayne and Christa’s wedding). This was an excellent story and would highly recommend it!
