Great book if you wonder why everyone is starting to look alike
I thought the book had a lot of research to back it up. I enjoyed how Schor was able to track this trend all the back to the 1900's making it clear that this is not an old phenomenon. It was easy to read and easy to connect to with the anecdotes that proved that not only can this trend be detrimental but also possible to overcome. The graphs, though sometimes hard to understand put the numbers into perspective. I appreciate how she used psychology and sociology to back up her thesis. Was this review helpful? the book was very interesting and filled with facts and numbers that just show how much americans spend on things they dont need. however, i felt that it was a bit repetative i felt like i was reading the same thing just with different numbers. Was this review helpful?
