Worth the paper it is printed on

It was exactly what I was looking for - no fluffy bunnies, great information that is up-to-date and relavent to today's view of religion and spirituality.

    A wonderful book!

This book is very well written by people who obviously know and appreciate Paganism. Many exercises, jounal questions and discussion questions also help a great deal. Great for people who are considering Paganism, as well as for people who simply want to know more.

Definitely a good book for new Pagans or Wiccans

Joyce and River Higginbotham are wonderful teachers through this book. i learned much about the spiritual faith i was wanting to be a part of as an adult. it's easy to understand and the exercises and journals help out tremendously as well. it's definitely a good book to read even if someone is just curious to see what the faith is about.

    I Also Recommend:

Excellent read for those searching, or for those curious.

An excellent source for anyone looking to learn about paganism as a whole. They provide plenty of information and great fruit for thought. Rather your a Christian, Budhist, or any other religion, this book has great ideas on how to increase your own relationship with your Diety. If you know someone who is a pagan, but don't fully understand what they believe, or if you are thinking about or already are a pagan yourself, then this is an excellent source of information, enlightenment, and comfort.

    A great introduction

I have been interested in Paganism for quite some time after realizing my Christian background didn't reflect my beliefs. I had no idea where to start but I came across this book and saw the great reviews. I haven't gotten very far in the book yet but so far I have learned a lot from it. It is well-written, it doesn't bash other religions but simply lays out the different viewpoints on the various topics. I an enjoying this book so far and I can't wait to finish it. I would definitely recommend the book for newbies looking for a place to start.

    Excellent Resource

If you're interested in learning the basics of Paganism or expanding your own spirituality outside of Paganism, this is an excellent book. It explains that most Pagans, regardless of sect, usually hold certain beliefs and then goes about illustrating those to the reader. Not all Pagans believe the same thing, just like all Christians don't believe the same things, but they have similar principals. It uses illustrations, topics for discussion, journaling ideas, meditation and more to help guide you to your own personal spirituality.

If you're looking for a description of the different sects under the Paganism umbrella, you will get some names but not many specifics.
