Pretty good; reads just like she "tawlks"!!

Overall this book is nice. I just received it as a gift. The only downside for me personally is that it's written exactly the same way she speaks...SUPER southern. For me that's way over the top. It's one thing when she's on TV, but to try and read that way is very difficult for me...and I'm FROM the south!!! But the photos are great & provide lots of inspiration, which is what I look for in this type of book. The text is fairly informative for the most part, but it's more of a history of the South & Savannah in general & the way Southerners live more than a decorating book (then again, that may have been the whole point!). Brandon Branch does provide insight & tips, but I'd say that's less than half the content.
I still like her book though - for her first "non-cookbook book," I give her lots of credit. It's a lighthearted read with lots of visual inspiration...and at a very reasonable price (especially for members!). She certainly stays true to her on-air persona, so if you're a true Paula fan, you'll love reading her down-home Southern-isms. Even in written form she doesn't take herself too seriously!! :)

    Great decorating ideas!

This book has beautiful ideas for decorating your home throughout the different seasons! Decor and the flower arrangements were beautiful! I hope I can recreate some of the looks!

Why is this a digital book?

I love my nook, but this was the first mistake I made when making digital purchases. This may be a lovely book for your coffee table, but is not suited for digital format.

    I Also Recommend:

    Love from the south.

This was a wonderful Mother's Day gift. It has a special place on the coffee table for all my friends to enjoy. I hope to see more of Paula's decorating ideas in future books. She not only is a wonderful chef, but a wonderful southern designer.

    Savannah Style

I received this book as a Mother's Day Gift. We have spent a lot of time in Savannah,Ga. Our daughter attended the Savannah College of Art and Design. We are not from the South, but looking at this book certainly made me want to hop on a plane and head to Savannah once again. The book expresses the relaxed elegance of a Savannah Lifestyle. Paula Deen has been a favorite of our for years. Enjoy the photos and maybe get some good ideas for your own favorite room. Oh, and if you get to Savannah, try the Shrimp and Grits, to die for!
