Peaches by Jodi Lynn Anderson is a must read for all teenage girls. This story is about 3 girls who get put together at a peach orchard for all different reasons: Birdie's family owns the orchard and she has lived there her whole life, Leeda is Birdie's cousin and is sent to the orchard by her family, and Murphy has to work there as punishment for trespassing. The girls are completely different but those differences make their fresh friendship stronger. Together these girls and the peach orchard manage to stay together in the hardest times. After you read this book, you will be wanting more, and luckily Secrets of Peaches and Love & Peaches do just that.

Not the best book

It was an okay book but the second book was better than the first. I wouldn't waste your time or money on the book.

Is it one of those books where if you read the first book, you almost have to read the rest of the series?

One of the worst books I have ever read. Southern writers portraying Mexican American migrant workers is always depressing. As a Texasn, most of the Mexicans and Mexican Americans I know are doctors, attorneys, mayor, governors. Farm workers like this do exist but it saddens to me to see this type of portrayal. Calling one character Poopie was the last nail in the coffin for this book!
