A Fresh American Literary Voice
There is an incredible American author on the literary scene, which I have just discovered and I want you fellow readers to be acutely aware of. His name is Edward Mooney Jr. and the book, which is the first in a trilogy, is called "The Pearls of the Stone Man"

It is a wonderful, evocative novel that will truly touch your heart. I recommend this book to everyone without reservation.
For me the purpose of great literature, is to make you think, dream and more importantly feel. I must candidly admit, that even though I consider myself a mans man, I shed tears many times in the reading and rereading of this special work.
Mr. Mooney has a gift with words, and like two of my favorite American literary icons Ernest Hemingway and John Steinbeck, he manages to capture the essence of the human condition and interaction with a simple elegance, that allows the reader to feel the full impact of what is on the page.
Read this book. I give this book 5 Stars PLUS. It is transformational. -
The Pearls of the Stone Man
The Pearls of the Stone Man by Edward Mooney Jr. is the story of Joseph and Anne and the love they have for one another and their lives together after fifty-three years of marriage. He is determined to build a stone wall that Anne had asked for, and the task becomes more than the building of the wall. This novel moved me to tears (and I don't cry often). It is ne moving tale of love, redemption, commitment and bonding. You have to read this one!

Just not that interesting...
The author clearly feels he had a compelling story.

For him maybe, but not for the general book buying populace.
Badly written, hardly a page without grammatical or spelling errors, unconvincing characterization.
Please take some time to practice writing before releasing it on the world. -
Good book!
Once I started reading, this book was hard to set down. I felt like I knew the characters, and I had to know what would happen to them.

It's equally romantic (not in the bodice-ripping sense) and thought-provoking.
I won't be surprised if it becomes a best seller, in the same league as Nicholas Sparks and Mitch Albom; but it's original too, with some unexpected surprises. -

Pearls for life
Pearls of the Stone Man is a compelling story that shows the reader the struggles of Joseph Marino as he faces his worst fear in life: to lose his beloved wife of more than fifty years.
Mr. Mooney crafts a way for the reader to see just how Anne, Joseph's wife, speaks to her husband and helps guide him through his struggle with hidden letters.
Each letter gives Joseph strength and courage to continue with his life, continue with his dreams and continue with his work to fulfill his promises to Anne and to himself.
The ending was unexpected and quite dramatic. A wonderful story for all generations to learn about the "pearls" of life, the Pearls of the Stone Man.0 out of 1 people found this review helpful.

Touching Story
As an avid reader, I love a good book. Too often, though, they characters run together. That's not the case with The Pearls of the Stone Man. The story of a couple aging together, nearing the end of their journey, touched my heart. At times I had to put it down to allow for the tears. And, yet, it's an upbeat story of triumph. Thank you Mr. Mooney.

Home
This book touches me deeply because the idea for the setting is a mountain town close to my childhood hometown. Having moved 1,000 miles away, it is wonderful to be able to hold the book and "go home," thanks to the author's accurate descriptions.

Pearls of the Stone Man a great read
I had the chance of not only reading the final book, but the first draft. This book captured, not only my interest, but held my attention throughout. It is a book of love between an man and his wife, and one of compassion for other human beings. Mr. Mooney expresses his innermost feelings for family and all of those who have the chance to not only meet him, but to work with him. This author is deserving of every accolade awarded to him. His writing style fits not only today's generation, but those of us from generations before. Congratulations of a job well done. I am proud to call you my friend.
