An absolutely charming read - not just for kids!

This series is charming and entertaining and very "relateable" to real life situations. This book is great for girls in the grade school -- or even beginning intermediate/junior high -- age group...and most moms, grandmas, and big sisters won't mind reading it with them. They will enjoy it because it is a fun read. And -- there is a good message.

    Write on, Ms. Whoopi!!

Well, this book, another winner in the series, tackles another problem among the group of friends at the Nutcracker School of Ballet. In this episode, one of the really adorable characters, Jerzey Mae, is having trouble learning her dance and must accept help from the most unlikely source, her little brother. I love these stories because the cast is so cute and quirky, the writing is good (not dummied down) and each one teaches a lesson without being preachy. I highly recommend this series for little girls... and their little brothers... whether they like ballet or not. It's a positive message in a fun format. And I love hearing "Are there any more Sugar Plum books yet?"

    more from this reviewer

    I Also Recommend:

    Marvelous Mason.

Sometimes the answer is a solution we have yet to consider because we are more focused on what we are unable to do. Is there truly a dancing disaster at the Nutcracker School? To find out the answer join Jerzey Mae, our protagonist, JoAnn, Jessica, Mason and the rest of the supporting cast on this journey toward becoming a ballerina. The antics are comical with real life situations. *Fascinating facts about Miss Camilla Freeman are shared with readers. *Beautifully detailed artwork will hold readers attention, along with a well-developed storyline and an entertaining "cast." This tale is a wonderful choice for leisure time or silent sustained reading time.
