What a great read!!! Kept me on the edge if my seat the whole time. Was a bit neglectful with the family until i finished it. Good plot line.

It was boring
The book wasn't that engaging to me. I had to force myself to finish reading it ( I always finish what I read). The crime aspect of the story was more interesting than the romance aspect (in my opinion it should've been the other way around). I've read hotter romances were the love scenes sizzled. The romance between Ashley Montague and Jake Dilessio didn't sizzle the love scenes were too sweet and poetic to be hot. Ms. Graham kept the suspense up by making the situation seem dangerous at first, and when the situation wasn't dangerous it left me disappointed. It was too long, there were some parts that I thought were unnessary.

Dissapointed!!!
Im going to be honest the plot was great and the suspense was good. The romance between Ashley and Jake was not. They had two conversations within a 200 page span and all of a sudden they love each other. I think the romance between them could have been better. This is the first book I read by her and I am sad to say I am dissapointed. I am going to try another just to give her the benefit of the doubt but to you new readers of Heather Graham....you've been warned.

Very Entertaining
In the genre of romantic-suspese it's always good to even out both the romance part and the suspense part. Like a 50/50 split. In this book I'd say that the suspense part was more than the romance part, but it was still very good. There were about 5 questions that you ask to yourself throughout the book. 1. How was Peter Bordon involved? 2. Who was David Wharton? 3. How did Stuart wind up on the highway in his underwear? 4. Is Len obssessed with Ashley? 5. Did Jake only sleep with Ashley because she reminded him of Nancy? Don't worry, it'll all work out in the end. It's a rather well written book and I'm looking forward to reading more from this author. I hope you'll find it as entertaining as I did.

Steamy Florida Fun!
This book has it all: A great mystery, a terrific love story, and a Florida setting so realistic, you will slapping mosquitos on the back of your neck while you turn the pages. A terrific read!

Strong Romantic Suspense
This was the first Heather Graham book I have read. This book kept me interested until the end. If you like suspense with a touch of romance you will love this book. Can't wait to read Dead on the Dance Floor.

strong police procedural romance
In Miami, Florida, talented artist Ashley Montague attends the police academy while living with her uncle and his girl friend on top of a bar-restaurant he owns near a marina. Homicide Detective Jake Dilessio has just relocated his houseboat to that same marina. When the two first meet, neither likes the other. Ashley draws the scene of a terrible accident she has seen. Later she learns the victim is a high school friend Stuart Frecias whose body is filled with illegal drugs as he resides in a coma. Ashley believes he would never do drugs insisting something sinister happened while Stuart was undercover working on a story for some rag. Meanwhile Jake¿s worst nightmare returns when a woman is found mutilated in the Everglades with the same MO as that of a serial killer five years ago. As he makes no progress, he agrees to look into Stuart¿s situation. Wondering if Ashley¿s theory is correct, Jake sees a potential link between his homicide case and that of Stuart even while he and Ashley fall in love and she accepts a job as a forensic artist. Fans of Heather Graham recognize that her novels always contain gripping suspense and the right portion of love. PICTURE ME DEAD is a strong police procedural romance that grips readers until the final twist. The engaging lead couple is typical of the genre as they initially detest each other, but ultimately love one another. The story line is filled with intrigue, but contains too many turns losing some credibility yet Ms. Graham is so good her audience will finish the novel in one sitting. Harriet Klausner
