An original trip to a bizarre 'circus' - black comedy meets dark plot
This is a highly original, jolting, bizarre, blackly funny book that mixes genres to great effect. Jamie, a young and rather hopeless male from Brisbane, Australia, meets some strangely sinister clowns by accident one night, and his life is turned upside-down. He is drafted into the Pilo Family Circus as a clown, and finds himself isolated in a tiny place somewhere north of Hell or somewhere like it. The place is full of odd and fearful characters, and is run by the enigmatic brothers Pilo. Elliott's writing style is very visual and easy to read, and he keeps the story moving at a relentless pace. It's a book that you just can't put down. A triumph, but not a children's book.

Highly Recommend.
I just finished this book a couple of days ago and it's easily one of the best books that I have read in a while. It's different and original. Not something that has been overdone in my opinion. It's a mixture of weird fiction, horror, comedy and fantasy. I really loved it. Easily one of my favorite books.

Twisted look at the Circus
Great book for anyone that is looking for something different to read, and likes strange twists. I found it hard to put the book down, when I was getting to the end of the book. The book also has a great quote "The nicer the person, the Meaner the clown".
