Romance and History at it's Best
Gaelen Foley knows her history and puts it into romance for us. This is the 3rd in her Prince series and it is just as good as the previous 3. She knows how to make you fall in love with the characters and want to keep reading.

Amazing Love Story!!
This is book is amazing although I would not recommend it for anyone that is under 15. Lavar is a kind of person any girl dreams of. I know throughout the entire story I was wishing he was real. The author is positively wonderful and I cannot wait to read another one of her books!!

Fantastic
I would have to say this is one of my favorite books of all time. Although I am not a fan of Foley's other series or books, this one and its sequel, Princessa are amazing. Foley captures love, passion, and intrigue on every page. It was more than easy to fall for Lazar, and admire Allegra. I can not stress to anyone enough that this book was fantastic and worth the read. It will leave you wanting more, and wishing for a more satisfying love life.

The last half sunk this book
This book was good at first¿ I mean there was passion and their was chemistry and it seemed like everyone would get along. It becomes evident to the reader that the lead character Lazar di Fiori had his inner demons (after all, what romance hero doesn¿t), but there was something about this character that screamed to me `Leave him be¿. Our heroin, like all romance heroines tries to convince Lazar that he should face his terrible inner demons and put himself through hell to please her child hood dreams of him as her perfect prince. The problem is he isn¿t and throughout the book it doesn¿t seem like he ever wants to be. The book felt to me like Lazar was sacrificing his whole life for this `love¿ of his. If she really loved him, would she hold herself back like she does and tries to change him like she does? I don¿t think so. This book became tedious after the first 250 pages. I got tired of the fact that Lazar had to change himself and sacrifice so much of his self. Normally in a romance, when the heroin pushes her outcast lover to claim his rightful throne he in a way wants to. With Lazar that need was not there¿. He was being bullied into it. The book has its passionate moments, although not many, and the beginning was pretty entertaining. So for that I give it 3 stars, but I wish I didn¿t pay $8 for this book¿..

Gaelon Foley can write!
This book is amazing, Gaelon Foley has created my own Lazar and when I was reading the book I couldn't put it down. I couldn't wait to turn the page it was wonderful! I was even sad when Lazar and Allegra got into so many fights, then I was so happy when they made up. Gaelon Foley creates a picture and when you read the book you actually feel as if you are there inside the book.

Wonderful Read
This was a wonderful novel that was a page turner til the end. The characters came to life and you felt for them when things got rocky. The novel is well written and made me want to read Foley's next novel in this series, The Princess

omg what a book!
so i both loved and hated this book. i loved it because once you actually finished it it left you mesmerized. i loved the way they bickered all the time. but in another sense i hated it because it was so good i didn't get much sleep. this book drove me crazy, but in a very good way. i found myself laughing and on the verge of tears. so yeah this book is prolly one of my favs.

He's a Pirate...No He's a Prince...Why He's Both!
This is the fourth book by Gaelen Foley I have read this past year. I also read, ¿The Duke¿ (excellent!), ¿Devil Takes a Bride¿ (extremely good too) and ¿Prince Charming¿ (not bad ¿ better than average but, not great). I have read some of these books out of order as I didn¿t do enough research before buying and reading but, they still worked fine even out of order. The Pirate Prince deals with Lazzar di Fore¿ ¿ a boy born a prince with a kingdom on the island of Ascencion that was ruthlessly taken from him in the prime of his life. The enemies of his kingdom who killed his family, took away his land and left him to flee and survive as he could. The years away turned the gentle and loving boy into a hardened, bitter and angry pirate bent on vendetta. Lazzar returns to his boyhood home to kill his enemies and seek revenge. Part of the plan involves killing his enemies lovely daughter Allegra Monteverdi. But as all best laid plans¿Allegra ends up being more than his research provided and more woman then he ever planned. She is proud, determined, intelligent, honorable and lovely ¿ the things even the strongest man has trouble over-looking or winning against. I won¿t re-cap their story as it is told by others and part of the publisher/editors notes. Suffice to say¿the story was not completely original but, it still had a fresh feel to it in places. I especially liked how spunky and determined Allegra was to be kind to everyone on the island and do good for those less fortunate. Even when Lazzar takes her captive, her goal is to bring out the good in him again which had been lost over the years due to heartbreak, death and destruction. She softens him where he is hardened, she gentles his wildness with her tender ways, she makes him see past rage and revenge with kindness and new dreams and she loves him until his hate dissolves and is no more. They are opposites destined to attract. I enjoyed their conflicts as much as their moments of combined passion. The only things I didn¿t like in this book was 1) when Lazzar called Allegra a nasty name later in the book 2) when he was intimate with her one time and kissed her check, said thanks for the ¿fun¿ and walked away like she was some street hussy and last 3) that Allegra sometimes seemed weak in needing his love even when he turned her away. I would have changed these small things if I could. Otherwise, a solid read. I recommend you pick up this book. My feelings so far is that GF was fine tuning her craft in the Prince series and she gained full steam in The Duke series. Enjoy the stories, characters and books for what you will and don¿t be too picky. Love is what counts after all ¿ not the perfection to get there. Enjoy!

Perfection
This book had all the right elements! Mystery, passion, pride, honor, royalty, poverty, good vs. evil, fights to the death, revenge, love, hate, family and friendship. I am a true reader of all books, I am one for romance novel, saying so, this one was fabulous. It will be apart of my top favorite list. If you liked stories like the story The Princess Bride, by S. Morgenstern (also a movie with Robin and Cary) then this is a story for you. Or if you loved the new pirate movie, Pirates of the Carrabean, then please dont sell yourself short of this.

This book was GREAT! I loved it so much!
Oh this book was so great I loved Lazar! He was so tormented that I just wanted to kiss him and tell him everything would be ok. And Allegra was great as well. She was strong and a good leading lady. This was my first book that I ever read by Gaelen Foley and this will not be my last.
