One of her best

I absolutely enjoyed this book. She didn't go with the usual formula and it was different. The ending was fabulous and surprising.

Good read for a rainy day

I actually read this on a snowy weekend, nevertheless it was a good read. I didn't feel the same anticipation or thrill but she did step outside the box with memory sequences. It kept you wondering what happened on 'that night'. Because of not knowing what happened I do...

    Great Reading

This was a different from ordianary book. It was exciting to see that someone who made a mistake was willing to get his life turned around for the better in doing what was necessay in a logical manner with little or no violence and attaining his goal. it was very hard to sit down since every move you had to knw the outcome.

WHO SAYS YOU CANNOT JUDGE A BOOK BY ITS COVER

The title says it all. A good book. Not what you would expect in a murder mystery. Characters are interesting to say the least. Ending is expected but still fun to read.

Sandra Brown does it again. A plot of intrigue, sex, love, and high-stakes game playing.

Loved the main character, Griff Burkett. He finds himself down and out after spending time in jail for being less than honest. After release he has no money and no place to go. He finds himself in a crazy secret lucrative job offered by a airline millionaire and his wife.
Griff, a Dallas Cowboys superstar, is convicted of throwing a game for the mob. When he appears out of prison, all his previous loyal fans hate him and he has to cope from having been loved to now being hated.
Griff's character finds himself in a high stake game, redemption by his foster parents, love, and playing the last perfect play of his life.
I wanted to read the book as quickly as possible and lost some sleep.

Cherry Blossom

    My favorite!

This was my first book to read by Sandra and I just couldn't put it down. It didn't turn out the way I expected either. This book has ranked Sandra as one of my more favorite aurhors! I look forward to reading more of her books.

    Wow

Sandra has been my favorite author for yrs, but this book was just not her. It was rushed and somewhat confusing to stick with. She seemed bored with writing this book. My own opinions only

    Murder Hot & Steamy Style

"Play Dirty" is the first novel I have read from Sandra Brown, and liked the story. She writes mysteries with a little sexual spice. Some chapters are a little spicier than others. The twisted plot was very interesting encompassing: sports, murder, romance, oh yeah - with hot and steamy.

Total Fumble & Insult for Any Adopted Person

PB/Suspense Fiction: This book is total fumble and totally insults any person is was adopted or has adopted. So a billionaire asks a ex-con/ex-pro football player to impregnate his wife "the old fashion way". There are so many problems with this book that it will probably make my worst list of 2011. The billionaire is trusting a guy with a gambling problem to keep a secret. The con takes an STD test and then has unprotected sex with a so-called "clean" hooker. The billionaire & his wife believe the ex-football player is a good specimen for a sperm donor, even though he is a gambler, shopaholic, & GOT CAUGHT for throwing a game and sent to federal prison for five years. Then there is the problem with the billionaire not wanting anyone to know that the potential child is not really his. For any person who was adopted or child of an anonymous sperm donor, Sandra Brown just slapped you in the face. She pretty much says you don't count. She felt the need to have her intelligent, noble character turn his nose on adoption is ridiculous. That his wife can't be artificially inseminated is more ridiculous. This book is a big fat NO.

    issue involved

I loved the book but had one problem. I read the book when first released in hardcover then decided to add to my Nook. I found the last chapter missing from the e-reader. Can anyone tell me if the last part was added to the e-reader version?

A bit of a Let Down.

I have read many of Sandra Brown's books and overall I would say that I have enjoyed most of them. I was a bit disappointed in Play Dirty and don't think it was one of her better stories. In Play Dirty I was always looking for what Sandra is known for; great descriptions of the character traits; superb plot development and a terrific ending. In my opinion these characteristics of Sandra were missing. I never really got the relationship Griff and Laura and Foster Speakman. This is an easy read and a relaxing read and even though I was a bit disappointed I'll probably check out her next book.

    A interesting and satisfying read.

Just about all of Sandra Brown's novels I have enjoyed and although I didn't think that this was one of her best effort, I still enjoyed the story. The love story that centered on Griff and Laura was a bit weak, and the characters could have been flushed out more, but overall the story held my interest.
