    Share the laughter and tears!

Please Delay Departure is a luminous collection of over 100 works of poetry and prose by Betty Ann Fisher. Humorous and sometimes sad, this volume explores the worlds of life, love and loss as experienced by the author. Although the words come from the heart of one woman, the themes which bring this collection to life have universal appeal. In the sections, 'Forever Yours' and 'Loafing with the Son,' Fisher explores her early courtship with her husband and the raising of their three sons. The section, 'In Memory of Mom,' is a tribute to mothers everywhere, while 'The Absurd' and 'The Games We Played' riff on the comedy of life and the carefree days of youth. 'Up Violets' is a colorful love letter to the seasons and 'Dismay in December' looks at the laughter and joy of Christmas. In the wake of personal tragedy ¿ the death of one of her sons ¿ Fisher writes in prose to reveal her innermost sorrow in 'Angel in a Hockey Helmet.' Anyone who has ever lost someone close will relate to this mother¿s journey through grief to healing. In the final section, 'The Joke's on Me,' Betty Ann Fisher reflects on life in her later years with the same wit and joie de vivre that characterizes this remarkable volume.
