Insightful journey through pain and despair to self awareness and freedom

This is an insightful and retrospective look at the struggles we experience in life. I was compelled to read through her journey of pain to self awareness and ultimately to freedom. Jones-Carter eloquently and openly leads us through her despair with honesty and engaging poetry to which many will relate. This is an excellent read.

    A Touching Book

I found this to be a very touching book that dealt with the trials and tribulations that all humans experience in life. Reading the poems brought home to me the value of life, children and family. It also reminded me that life is much too short and that we must value each day, because each day 'once gone will never be seen again'. The book was an excellent read, something I know I will reread many times.

    Very revealing book

This book reveals the author's heart and soul and pain through the poems it contains. In reading the individual poems, one can feel the depth of pain the author was experiencing at the time. This is a book that deals with issues that we all face at some point in our lives, and deals with them in a compassionate manner. A well written book that revealed the soul of the author.

    A reviewer

I found this book to be sensitive, well written and applicable to everyone at some point in their life. The poems evoke feelings of compassion for the pain the writer must have gone through. There is no sugar-coating of the emotions here, the poems are pure, raw emotion.

Take life one day at a time.

A spiritual journey that makes one evaluate how one is living one's life on a day to day basis in the eyes of God. God gave us the gift of life, and how we live that life is a testament to God's great gift. I loved the poem 'Each Day'. It reminded me of what life is all about. 'No matter how many years may pass Before we say our last goodbye The signature that we leave behind Was plainly written one day at a time So instead of planning for next year Instead of filling your calendar for this month Before penciling in that weekly planner Remember that life is only issued One day at a time.'
