    Had potential but fell short

This book is about Annja Creed, archeologist and a TV host for Chasing History's Monsters. She receives a letter from friend Zachary Guilfoyle saying that he found something in Antarctica and wanted her to come down. Then Annja gets strong armed into flying down to see him.

Once there, she meets Dave, a geologist, that is there to look after Zach. Then she is almost killed the first night in the local town. When she gets to the encampment for the dig, things don't seem as they appear. She also runs into Garin, pretending to be part of the military working on the security of the encampment.

The deeper she digs for the truth, the more things seem out of place. For example, supposedly the military tested an artifact found at the site to be unknown material and 40,000 years old. Yet the report was given verbally and when a request to read the actual report is made, it is denied.

I have not heard of the Rogue Angel books before, so I don't have anything to compare it to. I think it would help because it references a couple characters and Joan of Arc's sword and I admit I'm lost on that one.

But as it stands, the books is not that bad of a read. A typical action without a lot of effort in it. It is really ridiculous when you think about all the time and effort into such a huge set up as an archeological dig just for the real reason, I don't want to spoil the story. Over all, I would say don't was your effort or money on this one.
