Is this the best that anti-abortionists can do?
Beckwith is an evangelical Christian scholar, and I note that both of the reviewers below are as well. I had a look at some of the sources cited as Beckwith made his claims about foetal pain, the psychological aftermath of abortion, etc. Beckwith uses an a priori set of conservative Christian beliefs. He then uses this Neothomist natural law theory model to slant his cited research and does not engage with Beverly Harrison, Rosalind Petchesky or Eileen McDonagh. He's a nice enough chap, and this is a rigourous book by the standards of the anti-abortion movement. If you're pro-choice, go through the sources. You'll find evidence of copious selective citation and 'egging the pudding'Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.
