Parker is no Chandler
I loved Parker's earlier books simply for the flavor of Chandler that they held...and Parker is good in his own right. That being said, Parker turns Marlowe into Spenser as far as his romantic life is concerned! Very disappointing that he did not stay true to Marlowe's character. Parker is an excellent writer but the character change within Marlowe is glaringly obvious. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Obviously, I would recommend everything ever written by Chandler as well as John D. MacDonald, Ross MacDonald, Ian Fleming and Jack London.
