    "One man guy" seeks same

I randomly bought this CD years ago because I read about it in a magazine, and that is how my love affair with Rufus Wainwright began. My first couple listenings found his music soothing, and I actually went to sleep with Poses playing for a while. Once I gave it a closer listening, I found a lot of his lyrics to be very personal, and I connected with it very deeply. "Cigarettes and chocolate milk" never fails to put a smile on my face, and his cover of "Across the Universe" is beautiful. My favorite track on the CD is a cover of his father's song, "One man guy." I don't think I've ever had a song resonate with me more than this one. I think Rufus is brilliant, and his subsequent albums have only made me love him more.

    Just fabulous

Too few people in this world have never heard of Rufus Wainwright. When asked if I had heard of him two years ago, I gave the inquirer my often used what-the-heck-are-you-talking-about look, and said, "Who?", as poiletly as I could manage. Now, writing this review, I am a fan. The first song I ever heard by Rufus was "Cigarettes and Chocolate Milk." Scanning the back of the CD, my first thought was, admittdly, 'strange people.' Annoyed, I set the disk down into the CD player, rather harder then necessary. As the first wave of music hit me, I sat down on my bed, and remained there until the CD was done. I pushed play again, and again, and again. I simply could not believe that I could have missed such a jem, being a music enthusist myself, I try to listen to as much music as possible, rap to classical. I found that listening to Rufus Wainwright's music gave me a feeling of-well, mixed feelings. For some of the songs, I would stun myself (and permenatly blind all others around me), and dance, or I would frown, and comtemplate what was being said/sung to me. All in all, I really loved this CD, and thought it was "Just fabulous!" NOTE: Buy tickets for as many concerts as possiable, seeing as he is simply fabulous (my favorite word) in concert!

Like endless rain into a paper cup...

I luffs Rufus Wainwright. Ever since I bought the Shrek soundtrak I fell in love with his voice. So soothing and warm it is; then I bought the Moulin Rouge Sountrack until, finally, I bought Poses. As great of a singer he is, the quality of it is a little...off. Like in "Cigarettes and Chocalate Milk" there is continuous hiss and in "Across the Universe" tends to crack when he's carrying a long note. I don't if this is only my CD or my equipment, but that'[s what I have heard. Still, I love it.

Oh, I love this album. It's amazing how talented this young man is. If you liked his first album you'll simple adore this one.(Even if you dislike cigarettes... or chocolate milk!)

    A musical genius

Mr. Wainwright's music is such a heavenly pleasure. Every song on the Poses album is captivating and extremely clever. He is what William Shakespeare is to Christopher Marlowe, a pure innovative genius. I look forward to his next endeavor

    Rising Star

This album is beautiful. Every track feels like liquid music flowing with peace and tranquility. His version of Across The Universe (done for the I Am Sam soundtrack) is worth the purchase alone. I look forward to hearing the many albums to come.
