Pot O' Gold is Irish Treasure

As I read this book with my eight year old grandson, the best part was the poem about Brian O'Lin. I was able to tell my Sean that this was a story passed down from my Irish grandmother. For us both to feel this special sense of history and heritage was a wonderful moment. The stories are appealing and short enough to hold a youngster's interest. A grand book to read one or two stories a day and discuss with family and friends.

Nice book of irish folk stories.

My daughter has enjoyed a number of stories from this book. It is good exposure to some culture/history of Ireland. There are some scary stories, at least for a 6 year old, so I would recommend glancing through before reading.

Great Teaching tool and classroom resource

As a substitute teacher, Ii used this book to fill in the empty spaces in class. There are some great myths, limericks, poems, and folk stories. Help students get in touch with their history or introduce them to some of the backgound of the immigrants to the United States.

    Nice Gift

I gave this to brother for my new nephew. He and his girlfirend like to celebrate their Irish heritage. It is nice book, no matter what your nationality is, and a great addition to a childs collection. Like all other timeless stories, these give the reader a feel for how the writer saw things in their own time. I love that the stories are different than the traditional fables, and fairy tales I grew up with while all the stories teach great lessons like the fable us American kids traditionally grew up with. It is definately a book that can be handed down through the generations.

    Quite Enjoyable

This book has beautiful pictures, and is easy to understand, but is enjoyable. It's for anyone who wants to learn some Irish Tales and Poems.
