    Changed my life

    I've finally found the answer to my question, "What is rest?" I have doctors telling me to get more rest, but I was never quite sure what that included other than staring at the TV like a zombie. After reading Dr. Edlund's book, I found out so very much more! Finally I CAN get some rest that isn't acting like a zombie. Rest is so much more vital and alive and desirable when I read about it the passionate way Dr. Edlund describes it.

    In very clear, everyday language (not doctor-speak), Dr. Edlund gives the reader numerous ways to rest ... to find ways during the day, during the night, to find ways that are active and passive, to find ways to share rest time with others. Rest is so much more than zombie TV watching! Edlund is so enthusiastic as he describes the different forms rest takes. I never knew. From what I've read, I believe going onto Facebook and visiting my friends (with no other agenda, no networking, etc), I'm getting social rest. Wow!

    Edlund also gives specific pointers on methods to help you relax and to fall asleep. Insomnia plagues me, so I found his methods of physical relaxation very helpful (easy and brief) as a sleep aid. This book by THE REST DOCTOR taught me that I can actively prepare my body for sleep ... not just popping a sleeping pill. This has made an enormous difference in my life.

    I have also found Dr. Edlund to be very current in his thinking. The Rest Doctor has a page on Facebook where he is writing "rest letters" every week or so that include tips from the book. He even wrote an open letter to Lady Gaga recently when she fell ill.

    I highly recommend THE POWER OF REST. It will change your life in more ways than you can imagine.
