Definitely something worth checking out...
Wintersen truly stretches all boundaries and expectations on love, lust, and sex in her fiction writings. A powerful author that challenges all preconceived notions you may already have and makes your head spin in a tizzy with new ideas and a growing imagination...Was this review helpful? Powerful, yes, but full power?
My opinion: The PowerBook smacks of the most delicious flavors of Winterson--moments of transcendant beauty, clarity, poetry. It delivers blazing truths about art and love as only Winterson can. Yet it is somehow not fully satisfying, perhaps too spare, too true to the cyber format in the truncated attention spans that comprise its episodes. Perhaps, too, I am not lithe enough to swing through the virtual monkey bars. If pressed to make a comparison with other Winterson books: The PowerBook is an array of fabulous tapas beside the feasts of Written on the Body or The Passion, or the ambrosia of Art & Lies. That said, any byte of Jeanette is tastier than most anything else you can sink your mind into. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback.
